I have been working at Greatbatch (More than 5 years)

    Pros

People on floor care about the product they are making. Company willing to invest in the business with new equipment and technology

    Cons

Benefits used to be really good with the college education reimbursement program. Slowly the good benefits were reduced to adequate benefits or completely eliminated.

    Advice to Management

    Take care of your people

    I worked at Greatbatch full-time

    Pros

There are no pros at all

    Cons

This is the worst organization I’ve ever worked for. Employees are treated like machines. Management only cares about reaching performance incentive goals to receive their bonus.

    I worked at Greatbatch full-time

    Pros

    Nice facility.
Many people that are smart, hard working, and nice.
    Good work/life balance
    Many real pros
Manufacturing, development, test, quality, sales all under one roof.
    Culture of respect

    Cons

Small number of people with poor attitude
    Business ups and downs

    Advice to Management

The company was clearly hiring employees with positive attitudes to build a positive work culture. Keep doing that. Identify key spoilers and get rid of them.

I worked at Greatbatch full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Salary Is good. Difficult to think of many pros since Great batch took over. Morale has changed and many good people are gone.

    Cons

No sense of urgency to fix problems. Micromanaging is not the way to run a business. Give the people what they need to do their jobs.

    Advice to Management

Train your managers to treat people with respect.

I worked at Greatbatch full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Some of the people were fun to work with.

    Cons

Management was challenging. Finance makes business decisions. Challenged by product offering.

    Advice to Management

Hopefully the new management from the merger does better.
