I have been working at HFF full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Everyone is friendly and gets along pretty well. Not a lot of drama in the Pittsburgh office. Management tries to work with you to make sure you have everything you need to do your job well.

Good benefits... health insurance with a wellness program, 401k that company matches, vacation days, sick days, and floating holidays as well as paid holidays.

    Cons

Short deadlines a lot of times and workload isn't consistent, but that is just the industry.

I worked at HFF full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    good work/life balance.
    on-call stipend plus overtime
    company culture is pretty good
    approachable management

    Cons

Users not given enough permissions which increases ticket volume.
Communication can be bad at times but is getting better.

    Advice to Management

Most IT departments have a separate team devoted to internal application support. This needs to be done with captrack system.

I have been working at HFF full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great friendships, good healthcare, unique opportunity for entry- to mid-level candidates to create professional designs with salaried pay,

    Cons

12+ hour days almost every day, no advocacy from higher-ups to clients regarding too-short deadlines, antagonistic and abusive behavior from management, horribly racist and sexist culture (expect emails about "those Muslims" from the boss, and to be asked during your interview if you have kids or plan to get pregnant -- they WILL reject you if you say yes).

I worked at HFF full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

HFF takes care of employees with very good benefits including matching 401k money. Time off is OK - but probably standard in the industry.

    Cons

The company is only for Producers. Any other employee is just there to make the producers rich. Analysts get small tips, work long hours with the hope of being a producer to actually make money.

    Advice to Management

There is no leadership in some offices. There is always talk about culture. What culture?!? The culture to do everything to make producers rich and everyone else can just slave away. The culture talk is a joke!
