Pros

There are very few pros.. 1. You gain experience, but it all depends on what teams you end up with. Not everyone’s work load and requirements are the same. So if you have an easy team you will be watching YouTube all day. 2. You can work from home once a week. However - there are several hoops you have to jump through depending upon if you are one of the manager’s favorites that is. Management tells you that you have to schedule Doctor appointments on your work from home day, but then they ask you to come in the office on your work from home day.

Cons

There are honestly so many that it would take forever to mention them all. 1. Many of employees that have been with the company for a long time treat the newer and younger employees poorly. Even the team leads can be extremely rude and hateful to newer people. Management knows that this is an issue, yet they continue to let it happen because they don’t care. This is one of the biggest reasons why new people don’t stick around for very long. HGS is a hostile work environment. 2. Poor Management. Managers play favorites and don’t have the same standards for everyone. Management will stand in the middle of the office and gossip about their employees. Even worse, managers will gossip about an employee with that employee’s peers. Very unprofessional. Floor managers spend the majority of their time complaining to their employees about the main manager. During one of our weekly meetings, the manager spent half of the time complaining about how much they didn’t agree with or like the main manager. 3. Low Wages - Everyone is your role is paid the same even though some teams require much more work for others. If you take a job here, don’t volunteer to do anything extra because HGS will take full advantage but won’t compensate you for it. Hard work will get you NO where with HGS. 4. No room for advancement. Management will try to keep you in your role because it is so hard to keep a decent employee. They don’t want you to move up within the company or to leave to work for the client. Managers will go on and on about how one day you can go work full time for Bayer Crop Science(legacy Monsanto), but no one has been allowed to do that in years. They last person who went over was 5 years ago. They won’t tell you this in your interview, but you’re not even allowed to apply to work as a full time employee for the client until you have been with HGS for 2 years. Yet they won’t/can’t provide anything in writing about this “rule”. Even after your two years, they won’t recommend you to work there. 5. Poor communication. One manager will tell you one thing and the other will tell you something completely different. Managers don’t listen to concerns and if you bring a concern to them you get reprimanded. This place is a HR disaster.

Pros

If you know what you're in for coming in the gate, then this company will keep you very busy with non stop calls, answering emails that type of stuff. You get hours here. Paid training.

Cons

Pay is awful for a company its size, they're based in India and have 20,000+ employees globably yet pay the bare minimum. ALOT of nepotism, you'll see all management staff are partners or married even at the very top. It's disgusting really. They also have affairs with co-workers, it's so silly. Work life balance is out the window. Getting day shift starting out M-F is for the truly fortunante who have alot of luck coming in the door, or you know someone with pull who helped get your hired. Clients set very demanding expectations and HGS management will keep you in the dark about everything, don't dare even think you'll be in the loop about new changes or policies, they give you only what they deem is necessary without scaring people off. I worked in the backend, no exaggeration here. Management even laughs about employees having to work so hard while they sit and hide from you in an office or in their back isle cubicle. The Peoria, IL locations have a rotating door of employees that get hired every 2 weeks, get paid training and then quit for an easy paycheck. Gossip is huge here, don't tell anyone your business. No one is your friend, people will tell on you and upper management LOVES the gossip, it's like high school but worse because long time employees will leech on any opportunity to cut your throat if they don't like you.
