I have been working at Healthtrax full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Great work environment. Friendly team members. Career advancement possibilities. Flexible schedule & PTO opportunities. Great industry for a career and job stability

    Cons

Behind the curve a bit in CRM & leads software. No yearly pay increase may affect long term employees morale, leading to complacency. Lack of adequate space/sq footage for new expansions/renovations due the building layout and architecture.

    Advice to Management

Focus on rewarding performance and creating highly motivated over achievers through coaching, one on ones, webinars, mentorship programs etc. Also try to frequent the clubs often to help build rapport.

I have been working at Healthtrax full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Recognition of service - supportive, encouraging and responsive upper management - performance based competitive income opportunities

    Cons

Limited beliefs of middle management leadership (in some departments) - bad habits in staff that has settled into comfortable positions with no desire or plan for growth

    Advice to Management

Engage in cultural reorganizing (teach service based mindset and how to apply it) - burn out the dead wood and plant a fresh garden of open minds with goals and desire for more - nurture your champions and set them to working together to create a new era.

I worked at Healthtrax full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Clean facility with quality equipment Generally friendly environment among staff and members Good pay with clear pathways to improve your earnings and performance incentives Solid benefits relative to fitness industry standards (pretty low) if you meet the required employment hours Management is actively trying to improve the center for employees and members I don't imagine there is a better corporate gym environment...

    Cons

Like every large corporate fitness centers I've personally experienced, the emphasis on sales as the primary metric of success in a health and wellness setting is unfortunate. Of course businesses must earn a profit and must have systems in place to try to optimize earnings. Of course personal trainers must sell training. However, when "Personal Trainer of the Year" awards are given out solely on the criteria of revenue...

    Advice to Management

Making money is awesome. Lead the way in a largely profit obsessed fitness industry, and be just as obsessed with client/member health. Call me crazy, but I think the bottom line would probably benefit from this more than actually being so concerned about the bottom line. Track fitness/health metrics as tediously as you track money coming into the center. Hold trainers as accountable for their client experience/goal...

I worked at Healthtrax part-time for less than a year

    Pros

Can bring own clients. Do get paid commission for private swim lessons.

    Cons

You only make 30 percent of private swim lessons. Considering you mostly bring the client, schedule, and communicate with them, then conduct the lessons it should be more. Disorganized staff and did not get pay checks on time.

    Advice to Management

Train senior staff better so there is less confusion on protocol.

I worked at Healthtrax full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

    - Friendly staff - Free gym membership - Low stress, even at its busiest (members can be demanding, and you'll need to be an expert multitasker but that's about it)

    Cons

    - This company does not give pay raises to non-salaried or salaried staff. The only exception (for part time/hourly employees) is if the federal/state minimum wage is raised by the government and a raise would be mandated by law. - Part time employees expected to go above and beyond while working minimum wage with no possibility of a raise or other benefits. #truestory - Management is good, but not appreciated for...

    Advice to Management

(For company policy makers) Treat employees well by offering better/more reasonable benefits. Even a .50 raise every 6 months might boost morale among hourly staff. Please show more appreciation especially to the general managers (and even department managers) for their hard work and long hours. Also keep revamping the marketing/ads so they are more robust and relevant. For a while Healthtrax was seen as old and outdated,...

    I worked at Healthtrax part-time

    Pros

The pros are..... -Free Membership That's it.

    Cons

The cons are..... -Working every weekend stinks, they need to figure out a better system (this is why I left). -Coverage is really hard to find. If I need a weekend off once in a while, I should be able to do so. -The management will cover for each other, leaving a new person to venture for themselves. -I received 2 days of training. I hardly knew anything about the paperwork. -Paperwork system is ancient. Technology...

I have been working at Healthtrax part-time

    Pros

The best part of my job is helping our members achieve overall happiness in their fitness journey. I want to inspire and encourage them to be the best they can be. Our team is another reason why I love my job, we support each other like no other team that I’ve worked with.

    Cons

Wishing we had more equipment and updated spin cycles.

We value our trainers, and encourage trainers to further their potential and develop skills to promote themselves through the tiers. Healthtrax University for all New Personal Trainers joining the company.

I have been working at Healthtrax full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Over the past five years, they have given me the chance to move from just a part-time front desk position all the way up to running the sales team for multiple clubs. Healthtrax gives you hands on training at a two-day seminar run by the VPO of sales for the company. What always impresses me most is how responsive and hands on the corporate office is considering how many locations there are. We have an annual meeting...

    Cons

The only complaint I could come up with during my tenor is it is sometimes hard to get time off. We don't have many people in our sales teams. It is always manageable, but you just have to play around with schedules.
