Terrible place to work

Pros

The money is above average, at best....

Cons

I worked for HyperGeb for the past 6 years and was the most successful sales person they had ever hired. I accounted for 30% of the company's sales last year. I left the company back in June to pursue my own business. It was a very hostile environment, employees curse and yell at each other. You are belittled in front of other employees. The morale is low. Everyone there has a terrible attitude, especially on the sales staff. They put on the happy face for clients, but when it comes to internal office relations, it is as bad as it gets. You are basically treated horrible regardless of how well or successful you might be.

Pros

Lots of "PeopleSoft" experience very quickly. Peoplesoft is a niche market, and it can be difficult to break into. HyperGen allows you to do that. Be careful though, because once you have PeopleSoft experience, it can be difficult to transition to "real" development. No dress code. Free candy (only two pieces per day, please).

Cons

Management continues to make the same mistakes and continues to react without forethought. The owner refuses to relinquish responsibility and tries to do it all himself. No real management structure. No room for advancement; they have no organizational structure so your job title is essentially meaningless. Training is fully self guided with no mentoring or assistance; "Sink or Swim" mentality. Don't give notice! They have and will terminate you immediately without compensating you for the additional weeks you would have worked had you not given notice.

With the hiring of a new Technical Services Director in Fall of 2016, and promotion of some talented individuals into key management positions, HyperGen has seen significant growth and advancement. We have quarterly town hall meetings and multiple options to hear for our employees including employee surveys conducted which have been positive. As with any IT Company with sensitive client data, once notice is given we do revoke all system privileges for security reasons.

The "entire" Sr. Development staff did not leave. HyperGen did separate from a few individuals that had played key roles in the Technical Development Management, this enabled us to bring to our staff some individuals who have been able to provide updated management skills which the team has received positively. 2017 was a great year with many new accomplishments!
