I have been working at ITW full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Decent medical
    Somewhat relaxed environment
    Good people

    Cons

Lack of effort in understanding workload
    Below average pay
    Above average expectations

    Advice to Management

Restructure the system. We have “manager” titles that don’t manage anyone and then people who do manage others without the title.

Don’t expect the work of a the next level of position with the pay of the next lower level position. Invest in your people, they are your most valuable resource. This includes $, time, training, team building, and more.

Too many politics and cliques to deal with make getting things done more difficult than it should be and it wastes time. Have a documented procedure to hold everyone accountable against, not who went fishing with who this year.

    Pros

    Pay
    Work /Home life good

    Cons

Management does not care about employees
Human resources back supervisors and above no matter the situation.
Management and Human Resources allow a hostile work environment as well as sexual harrassment.

    Advice to Management

Listen to the employees. Supervisors are not always in the right. Stop saying it is ok because of the difference in race.

I have been working at ITW full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

I cannot think of even one positive quality of this dumpster fire of a company.

    Cons

ITW is one of those conglomerate corporations which go around buying up great American companies and gutting them like fish. If they buy your company they will outsource everything possible and eliminate as many people is possible, it doesn't matter what you need for your job. Check the offshore leaks from the ICIJ, you will find ITW hides money in the british virgin island. They lobbied for the corporate tax cuts and kept it all for themselves. If you want to wake up every morning to a meaningless miserable job in which you are supposed to check your brain at the door and create shareholder value for people who don't work for ITW, this is the place for you.

    Advice to Management

The people at the bottom notice your wealth and the wealth of your friends... Stop the wealth pump to the top and let the people who do the work run the company.
