    Pros

Good company to work for. Loved the program manager who was fair and very professional. He would visit the site and take us to lunch, talk to us. Very open communication.

    Cons

    Don't show favoritism among co-workers.

    Advice to Management

They should make sure butt-kissers are dealt with because it is improper and a legal issue for defense contractors to play golf and mingle outside of work with government higher-ups. They are very dangerous to co-workers as well. It's great that an employee gets along well with the customer but you need to enforce stringent rules on those who go over the line.

I worked at JHT full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Small and personal company with a significant amount of interaction between upper management and lower level individuals. Open to unique ideas and willing to expand into new business sectors.

    Cons

Fairly flat hierarchy with little room for upward mobility. Afflicted with constant bubble/burst growth and recession when it comes to personnel. Stagnant pay rate. Sometimes adopts a "Be happy you have a job" mentality when in a recession.

    Advice to Management

Utilize contractors to mitigate the bubble/burst contract cycles. Better assessment of contract viability and long-term prospects to insure against furloughs, layoffs, etc.

I worked at JHT full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    Friendly staff and approachable CEO

    Cons

Low pay, remote managers who rely on daily phone calls to peers put as leads so this makes for discontent among team members. No matching 401 k. Paid time off is below industry standards. Benefits below average.

    Advice to Management

Do away with remote project managers. They get tainted information from peers who have hidden agendas at the expense of other hard working and competent team members.

"Worst managed government contracting firm in this country"

    Pros

    Flexible work scheduling.
If the owner and his pet managers like you, you will have a job for as long as the company can manage to stay in business, regardless of your performance or abilities.

    Cons

This company squandered the opportunities afforded it in the 8a program by ravaging every set-aside possible, developing no exit strategy, and leaving the program with an incomprehensible mixed bag of contracts that added up to NO core competencies. Upon 8a graduation, the company plummeted downhill at breakneck speed, going from 1,000 employees to probably less than 200. Former customers did not want them as backers to other still-eligible 8as, and they cannot compete against large businesses. Their only advantage is that they've lost so much business in the last couple of years, they now qualify once more as a SDVOSB.

    Advice to Management

Let the current contracts run their course and close down.
