Pros
Have worked at similar companies in the past and have competed against Salesforce and needless to say that's not the easiest task. Salesforce is just years ahead of anything else out there so being able to leverage that power being at Jobscience is awesome. They are really innovating in the space and the product has made leaps and bounds which is also exciting. I have nothing but positive feedback about the culture and people as well. I find it to be very flexible here and overall it is a great environment. There is amazing opportunity to have an impact here and the potential for this company is endless.
Cons
Growing pains. Jobscience has brought on a lot of new, larger customers in last few years so scaling with the volume poses a challenge.

Don't even apply here. Better opportunities elsewhere.

A job is better than no job? Employees are mostly all great people - who just need to escape from there.
Cons
Don't waste your time...wait for the right company to join. Jobscience will use you for every ounce of your time, energy, and more. CEO rules the company like a tyrant, instilling fear in employees with intimidation tactics (that he also tries to teach to any minion who is willing to play along), and he ultimately listens to no one but himself. Lacking a conscience, he treats people like dollar signs at most, giving them little value and respect both personally and professionally. Over the years, the company has probably committed every type of HR violation that exists, many times over (ironically for an HR software company). Jobscience employs the young and impressionable, so it's risky for them to speak up when they're already so severely underpaid. New managers and other C-level execs are often unable to work with CEO and eventually leave, but nothing changes with the core problem. Just don't even apply - you'll regret it eventually, if not in the first couple weeks or after the interview. At least one person has willingly left the company practically every week for the past few months. Apparently CEO goes on witch hunts and personally calls all his former employees to find out who writes these Glassdoor reviews! Absolutely pathetic. It seems unbelievable, but as you can see through all the other reviews - it's all true.

Mismanaged and unprofessional
Jan 27, 2015 - Anonymous EmployeeRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
If you like a "start-up environment" then this is the place for you. It's been a "start-up" for 15 years and hasn't changed much.
Cons
-Compensation is drastically uneven across the company. It's been said that the only way to get an increase is to show an offer letter from another employer -Leadership and promotions are based on "who's left" after the constant departures of staff -Meetings are unprofessional and have been downright hostile at times -the few long term employees (over 3 years tenure) are not valued and in most cases valued less than newly hired staff -the company never does annual reviews or disciplinary actions -CEO and COO are father/son and that often leads to an imbalance of power -favoritism is rampant -there are a lot of "plans" but nothing is ever executed -The company continues to chug along, but never really gains any momentum in an industry that is booming
Continue readingThanks for the feedback, it's not for everyone, the company grew new sales last year by over 200 percent and renewed 90 plus percent of our clients. Sorry it wasn't right for you, anonymous feedback will help us grow. Or you can call us to discuss where we dropped the ball, if you feel we are missing it, we need to know.

Pros
The staffing edition solution that Jobscience has on the marketplace has improved significantly in the last 6 months with the new user interface and the addition of the back office, which is also built on the salesforce.com platform. The platform and the product really are better than anything else on the marketplace.
Cons
While the product is awesome, it is a very crowded market that we compete in, and most of the other companies in the space are backed/financed by private equity or venture capital. This means they have a lot more money and resources to throw at sales and marketing. It really is amazing to see how far the company has come based on a very small investment that was made over 15 years ago.

Great Career and Looking Forward to Continuing to Grow
Dec 15, 2014 - Marketing in San Francisco, CARecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Since coming to Jobscience 18 months ago, many great career development opportunities have been presented to me. I have independently taken advantage of each one. Great opportunity to work on global initiatives as many of our customer headquarters are outside the US. Each team has developed its own culture, but as a whole, I can testify that Jobscience is a great place for those who thrive for career development, appreciate inclusion and likes to have a bit of fun.
Cons
Jobscience comes with traditional start-up pains, and thus you must be tremendously resourceful and be able to work with limited resources.

Great opportunity for career growth
Oct 13, 2015 - Anonymous Employee in San Francisco, CARecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
I worked at JS for just over 6 years. This is the kind of job that is what you make it. If you want an easy job to clock in and get a paycheck you should go work at a big company with lots of bureaucratic bs. But if you are passionate about what you do and you put in the effort you are rewarded handsomely. In my time there revenues had more than tripled which was the result of of the employees who worked hard, took pride in their work, and executed. Key contributors are appreciated and advance quickly.
Cons
Since JS is largely a self funded organization capitol constraints were an issue from time to time and decisions on what internal projects could be accomplished had to be prioritized.

loud Based Software Company Offers Lots of Opportunity to Grow.
Mar 26, 2013 - Manager Technical Support in Londonderry, NHRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
have been with jobscience for 5 years. In that time I have worked in Sales, Customer Support, Professional Services, and now Management. Jobscience has provided extensive training in Salesforce.com functionality and in general business and project management processes. By far the best thing about working at Jobscience is the team atmosphere. We work together as a team to solve problems and roll out solutions for our customers. We also have a lot of fun together outside the office. If you are looking for a fast-paced team-oriented environment on the cutting edge of the cloud, Jobscience is the place for you.
Cons
At times the work load can be very high. This is a place for motivated hard working Individuals.

Pros
If you are new to business there is lots of room to grow. Several interns have become directors of their respective department in only 1-2 years.
Cons
Employees are not valued at all... SEVERAL employees who took maternity or sick leave for serious medical issues have returned to find that they had been fired or their position in the company had "disappeared" Compensation is NOT competitive, also no 401k matching. The CEO is extremely impulsive and will change the company's "direction" so many times per day or week it is impossible to obtain any goals in any department. Senior Management is a revolving door.

Company centered on greed and exploitation of young workers
Sep 26, 2016 - in San Francisco, CARecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
It's a salary... it pays my rent and puts food on the table, and it is 100% the only reason I'm still working at this miserable organization. If my superiors found out I wrote this, I'd be fired immediately.
Cons
Jobscience is owned and operated by the CEO and funded by his octogenarian father, the CFO. Despite being in existence for nearly 20 years, the company still considers itself a "startup" -- an illusion perpetuated by Management to justify their greedy and exploitative practices. Jobscience has developed a particularly callous model; They hire young, naive, and inexperienced new college grads for salaries which in the Bay Area can only be described as poverty wages. The company (bottom line) benefits enormously from the undervalued and underpaid labor of these young workers, who have no real choice but to stick it out until they've accumulated enough experience to leave and go to a real company. The only personnel in the organization who make anything close to a market-rate salary are the executives and managers. Believe me, corporate greed ain't just for the Fortune 500's...
