    No opinion of CEO

I worked at Methodist Healthcare System full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Coworkers (some untrustworthy). Generally a decent work environment compared to others (though threatening at times depending on how insecure the manager)

    Cons

Managements Abuse of Power using position for personal gain. Executive management is out of touch with with their senior managers and especially the corruption of their HR department.

    Advice to Management

The best managers surround themselves with great nurses. Stop feeling intimidated and insecure by good passionate people who are in this career for all the right reasons and not just for position.

I have been working at Methodist Healthcare System full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Hardworking and flexible leaders. Teamwork environment. Work hard, play hard. Always busy. Never a dull moment. Many learning opportunities. Growth potential.

    Cons

Salary is not competitive compared to other hospital systems. Merit or raise increases could be higher. Raises should be based on tenure and performance.

    Advice to Management

    Review compensation.

    Negative Outlook

I have been working at Methodist Healthcare System full-time

    Pros

Some employees are really incredible co-workers that see patient care as a badge of honor. The CEO is a very caring individual and treats the employees as his own family.

    Cons

Desire to be "World Class" has created an internal backstabbing atmosphere by those that feel they can fast track to administration. Hasty decisions that take the INTEGRITY out of the 'I CARE' philosophy where listening to all parties is concerned.

    Advice to Management

When time allows, take a step back and listen to all parties rather than making an emotional decision especially to employees that have been devoted to the hospital. There is a lot of negative conversation within the ranks and a lot of younger employees spend a lot of time on their cell phones texting ...at times even during patient care! Perhaps take the time to have employees anonymously list their pros and cons to eliminate the negative comments especially around nursing stations and other work areas audibly around patients and their loved ones.
