    Pros

The list of positives at MetroHealth is long: a wonderful mission, a staff that not only believes in that mission but LIVES it, great benefits, smart leadership, a growing and expanding system, stability, a great future with the campus transformation.

Most of all, it's that knowledge that you and your colleagues are working to improve the health of the community. There is no higher calling.

    Cons

The bureaucracy can sometimes be frustrating.

    Advice to Management

Continue with this bold transformation. Keep lines of communication open.

I worked at MetroHealth System full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Administrative Support to physicians, who were wonderful, and who care about their patients.

    Cons

Very political. Often there, it's not what you know, but, who you know to be promoted, etc. People are put into positions because of their "ties", and not for their experience/skills/knowledge. Left after seven years, since I became frustrated with the department:(

    Advice to Management

Dr. Boutros is doing a great job growing the organization and concentrating his efforts on expansion and helping all in the communities.

I have been working at MetroHealth System full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Pros of the job -medical benefits, retirement plans, vacation time and very lenient sick time policy.

    Cons

The workload is too much to bear. Expectations of management cannot be met and management offers little support. Administration wants to run lean but does so at the expense of employee morale and engagement leading to quick burnout. There is no work/life balance. Vacation days are spent working from home to simply stay on top of your job. Projects rarely have resolution due to lack of time and manpower to compete. Technology is outdated.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your staff at the ground level. Open up the positions that are needed to complete everyday tasks of patient care and office operations. Change the culture to one that supports staff and offers work/life balance.
