I have been working at MetroHealth System full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Right now, Metro has a buzz to it. You walk around campus and people are happy to be here. It wasn't always that way, but over the past few years things have been changing and now you can feel the optimism in the air. It will be a long time before we have our new hospital (2022 still feels very far away!), but we haven't let that stop us from making positive changes in the meantime. From new leadership and more frontline engagement, to energetic support of value-based care and doing the right thing for our patients. Metro is on the up and up and it feels great to be a part of it.

    Cons

To thrive here, every once in a while you need thick skin. Not all members of the team are as thrilled to be at Metro, and they might not be as enthusiastic about change.

I have been working at MetroHealth System part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Started at MetroHealth in 1987 as a new RN. If I wouldn't have left I could be retired by now. They truly live their mission to serve those in need in Cuyahoga County. Excellent trauma services.

    Cons

It takes HR too long to approve and hire new nurses, so we work short staffed much of the time.

    Advice to Management

Please step up the hiring process and get the direct caregivers to the floors quicker.

I have been working at MetroHealth System full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Since joining the MetroHealth System, I have been most impressed by the commitment to our patients not only by supporting them during their immediate healthcare need, but also to help make connections that will help with other challenges they may face in life.
Having spent time with our providers and front-line nurses and staff, I have heard directly how committed they are to caring for our patients, their families and caregivers.
I am glad to have made the choice to join MetroHealth!

    Cons

Large organizations often find it difficult to ensure all leaders, providers and staff are aware of the various programs available to them as well as to their customers.
MetroHealth has great programs. We have continued opportunity to communicate these programs so that they are more readily available and utilized with increased frequency.

    Advice to Management

Continue to engage patients, providers, frontline nurses and staff in making this the best place to receive care and work!
