    Pros

Fun free events from vendors Some prestige from clients and agency Potential alleged transferring of departments based on interest (I’ve never seen any of these get approved but it’s supposed)

    Cons

Launchpad program that is the brain child of someone senior that forces teams to take candidates that are “better prepared” because they were in this program but provides them no training or resources Hardware and computers that crash all the time. No training, mentorship, counseling for anyone who needs it. Poor work life balance “Yes Men” mentality to clients

I was looking for a new job in my second week on the job

Feb 15, 2023 - Manager, Marketing Sciences in Chicago, IL
    Recommend
    CEO Approval
    Business Outlook

    Pros

Big name clients, good pay for certain departments/positions

    Cons

The Chicago office had a college-like culture with cliques, mean girls, and popularity contests. It's massively unorganized. The literally do not care about the employees - everyone is just a number. I could go on and on but the fact that I was looking for a new job on my second week (despite a six figure salary) should tell you everything you need to know. This same thing happened at other senior levels during my short 9 month tenure where VPs/directors turned over quickly. One VP lasted like 1 month I think.

    Smart agency, overworked, under staffed

Aug 9, 2022 - Partner Director in Chicago, IL
    Recommend
    CEO Approval
    Business Outlook

    Pros

    - Exposure to some top notch clients and unique internal tools that other agency's don't have access to. - Pre-pandemic, the culture was open, fun, welcoming and passionate - Beautiful, modern offices - inspiring creativity - One of the more professional ad agency's out there. Many sister agency's, so depending on your leader - there is room for growth into other WPP company's - Outstanding programmatic practice & audience strategy teams; such advanced thinking - You must be vocal and have a good, respected account leader in order to advance your career here. You need to raise your hands for multiple projects outside your scope of work- it'll be challenging but full of growth. - Adam is an OUTSTANDING CEO; watching and listening to his openness about navigating covid19 was inspiring. He is passionate and personable. Take any opportunity to partner with him on projects, panels or new biz. - Amazing maternity leave policy, even if leadership asks you to come back early

    Cons

    - Always understaffed, over allocates people to multiple accounts - extremely long hours (14+ hours). - Benefits are good, especially PTO- unfortunately it's extremely hard to take multiple days off and you are expected to check in while on vacation. Always had unused days that did not carry over & you aren't paid out on. - Very reactive leadership team and HR team. HR team used to be such great partners, but they no longer make time for exit interviews or account transitions - Bonuses were only for partners and above and were not consistent, albeit that was during COVID

    Not so inclusive

    Feb 16, 2023 - Anonymous Employee
    Recommend
    CEO Approval
    Business Outlook

    Pros

Work location was close to my home

    Cons

I felt like I was back in high school. Very clique-ish...if you didn't join weekly happy hours or fit it with the group, you were asked to leave. I saw this happen to numerous employees during my time there. Management was all about being inclusive, but clearly played favorites. I was employed for a year and was there for 11 months too long.
