I have been working at Mindshare full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Top talent, amazing resources, nice people and C-Suite is normal. People care about each other and lean in to help. Lots of fun events inside and outside the office.

    Cons

Can be stressful, some client accounts are underscoped, which drives burnout.

    Advice to Management

Need to learn to staff flexibly. Hiring and staffing approvals process too slow for modern business climate.

I have been working at Mindshare full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The culture is very nice, employees respect one another and are all very friendly which helps minimizes stress and miscommunication. Upper level execs are very approachable and most accounts I'm familiar with are well staffed. Salaries are fair for the industry.

NYC office is beautiful and has a doctors office and cafeteria for Group M employees.

    Cons

Employees don't have their own desks, we have small lockers instead and find a place to sit each day when we come in. It can make it very difficult to be productive if you don't end up getting a desk with a 2nd screen, which happens if you have a meeting or appointment offsite first thing in the morning. You're also expected to use a computer phone instead of a regular one which makes it harder to get in touch with others since most don't have the phone program open on a regular basis.

This all makes it feel like employment is just temporary and people can be switched in and out easily. You don't feel settled in like you've made a place for yourself even though most people are there from 9-7 5 days a week. You would think that an industry with a high turn over rate would try to fight against that type of mindset but they've done the opposite.

    Advice to Management

Make employees feel like they are a part of the agency by having their own space. A desk with everything we need to be productive would make a big difference. Create an environment where employees feel irreplaceable, indispensable, and set up for success.

I have been working at Mindshare full-time

    Pros

    Upper-level executives are well approachable.

    Cons

The entry-level/mid-senior level employees have a lot to work on. There's way too much politics going on within the workplace making it a tough place to mix and work well within a group together.

    Advice to Management

Seek greater diversity within your applicants, and prospective hires.

I worked at Mindshare full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Good staring salary/benefits and if you're on the right team you will really enjoy what you do. You get to go to a lot of events with reps.

    Cons

I was on a team I just didn't get along with and there was no help from HR or my supervisors. I eventually left before a year was up. The culture is like a big sorority, so if you're not into that, this isn't the place for you. You are expected to work crazy hours. They say 9-6 but its more like 9-8. It was very hard to have a work life balance. You are really expected to live for the company.

    Advice to Management

Listen to employees that are struggling. Not everyone is going to get along with the cliques they get stuck working with. Really be there for your employees, if they say they are unhappy believe them.
