    Positive Outlook

    I have been working at Miniclip full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    Miniclip is an excellent environment to work at. There is so much talent and the company is always looking for that one fit. During the interview process, the company is not looking for the genius that can take the company to the next level but instead a candidate who is capable of getting the job done as well as fitting into the Miniclip Spirit (Work hard, play hard). The offices are accommodated in a way that makes you want to be there every day.

    Cons

    It needs to be a bit more organized how it handles projects and prioritizing. There is always a time where there were goals but not clear path to them. Having multiple offices across the world, communication was a bit of an issue but it has become better throughout the years.

    Advice to Management

    Prioritize things better. Employee Bonuses even when there are financial difficulties. Company should have a reserve to keep satisfying the employees with yearly bonuses.

    I have been working at Miniclip full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    - Awesome work environment with great co-workers;
    - Plenty of opportunities to grow professionally, hard and soft skills alike;
    - Challenging work with high reward;
    - Opinions are valued and acted upon;
    - Ease of communication no matter what position you have;
    - Emphasis on work/life balance;
    - Awesome location to work as it is not in the middle of a city;
    - Company is successful in what it does;

    The list could go on and on but, personally, the most important pro is that the company is united and does it's best for everyone to strive and be better every day!

    Cons

    - Slow kick-off of new projects, Miniclip is working really hard on this but it has a long way to go still.

    Like every company there is space for improvement and the cons, in my opinion, are outweighed by the pros.

    Advice to Management

    Always keep your peers informed on the thought process of decision making, it may be really useful for them to know it and act accordingly.

    I worked at Miniclip full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    - Central London location
    - Great name for your CV
    - Amazing people to work with
    - Ok benefits
    - Free beverages and snacks, which is always appreciated
    - One Miniclip events, where the 3 offices gather in a city and have team building activities (best perk of the company by a lot!)

    Cons

    Unfortunately, Miniclip offers a way below average salary compared to other London tech companies. Also, culture is not great - it is a company that proud itself of its culture, but they don't really have a vibrant, dynamic culture as most of the gaming industry ones.

    Management is poor. There is no transparency and they are not coherent with their words - while they revel on the company's amazing revenue, they offer little to none salary reviews during the year. There is one, but it barely covers the yearly inflation of the UK, which is unacceptable for such a successful company in term of revenue.

    Advice to Management

    There are many: take care of your employees, offer better career paths and don't take things personal when employees are unhappy and they vocalise it. But really, your biggest concern are salaries - they are terrible compared with other companies in the industry. Your talent will systematically flee to smaller companies because they pay WAY more than you do. That will be a problem in the future, as your best men and women will part ways with you.

    I worked at Miniclip full-time

    Pros

    - Great benefits, ranging from top-notch health insurance to free food and drinks.
    - Some very bright people working here.
    - Even when things get dicy, perspective prevails and calm reigns. The goal is to make games, after all.

    Cons

    - Totally immersed into monetisation through in-apps and ads.
    - No real perception of people giving out their heart and soul vs. rotten apples just roaming around and polluting a productive environment.
    - Some growth pains. People who get promoted through the chain lack the emotional tools and background to do a good job sometimes. Bet on smart people who show empathy and are visionaries. Getting the job done is hardly enough.

    Advice to Management

    - Be watchful of people who don't do anything. Sounds perhaps condescending, but comfort is your worst enemy and some are already making their beds.
    - Make games. Great games. Keep making money also. The two are not incompatible. Gradually move away from the in-app monster polluting the gaming industry.
    - Find ways to attract people to your Lisbon offices. If not through a Miniclip shuttle, add travelling compensation to your benefits.
