    Pros

Creative staff, staff needed to find ways to work with older hardware and out of date software.

    Cons

Lack of funds prevented us from keeping software up to date. Sr Management felt support contracts were scams and would not provide funds for software maintenance.

I worked at Mirror Image Internet full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    Some talented people work there.
    - Some of the products show promise but overall poor execution.
    - Very flexible
    - Very supportive VP of Sales and sales team.

    Cons

    - Incredibly unsupportive management.
    - Nothing more than a tax shelter.
    - A shell of its former self.
    - Very much behind the technology curve.

    Advice to Management

When push comes to shove, you have to look inside. Entirely mismanaged. I wished more than anything things would change but they didn't.

    Pros

    * A couple of decent people work here- most all gone now I hear with 1 or 2 left.

    Cons

    * no pay raises
    * they do the same thing there over and over - no real marketing or go to market plan.
    * a finance guy who thinks he's the CEO
    * another person who 'works' for the company - but won't acknowledge it on LinkedIn.
    * core group who make decisions, never listen - and always blame and fire someone low on the food chain when "the board" gets angry.

    Advice to Management

Good luck riding the gravy train while you can - most managers there wouldn't last a day anywhere else.

    Pros

Some decent people to work with
    flexible schedule
    pay is ok

    Cons

Crazy work hours 60+ hours easy ( especially in netops)
management is young and lacks experience
quality is not a requirement here and it is more quantity focus
many people are very burnt out and the attitudes can be very negative and even hostile at times

If you are looking for a long term job, this is not the place. If you choose to work here try to plan on only staying about a year or you will be completely fried... Lots of churn and burn . You will see many people come/go inside a year.

    Advice to Management

invest in getting more experienced technical people and stop the insane work schedules. There has to be some balance in what is sold to customers and what is reality.

    Pros

Interesting to learn about edge caching technology, albeit it was out of date. Lots of hands on experience and the ability to learn.

    Cons

Pay cuts, attitude of owners towards employees. Lack of respect and out of touch with the industry. Direction of the company was misled in internal politics.

    Advice to Management

Are you are service company or a software company, stop re-inventing the wheel.

    Interesting technology.
    Some very smart people.

    Cons

High level management is never there.
Decisions require OK from senior management, who are never there.

    Advice to Management

Do not try to cut your way to profitability

    Pros

Access to leading edge technology. Peer co-workers were good to work with but did not enjoy working with management. Good location for commuting.

    Cons

Manager was very aggressive and combative with regards to work schedules and road blocks that were thrown up and trying to get them resolved. Was difficult to get most simple things accomplished due to roadblocks.

    Advice to Management

Treat the company and people fairly with competitive recognition. Appeared that people were laid off before stock options matured to save money.

I have been working at Mirror Image Internet full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

There are a few good people here that if they were elsewhere could excel.

    Cons

The root of most of the issues is senior management and the complete inability to have any kind of plan or understanding of how to run a technical organization. I believe the biggest issue is the COO which does not belong in that position and has no business running the company.

Unfortunately when you have problems at that level , there is no chance of success since the problem never goes away. I don't understand why the owners have not gotten rid of the COO and several others by now.

    Advice to Management

Replace the dead weight and you could have potential success. The only way any success is possible is to bring in new upper management and start from the top. Otherwise, this company will eventually will cost to much to continue down this path.

I worked at Mirror Image Internet (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Well intentioned managers are lacking support from above.

    Cons

There couldn't be a more dysfunctional ownership and CEO. I don't understand how it has stayed in business this long. There needs to be a clear strategy and then commit to it.

    Advice to Management

Focus on results regardless of a clear plan and consistent direction from the top. There are a few very smart managers that know what need to be done, in spite of conflicting feedback and direction.
