    Pros

    good culture and people. A big small US presence with big company support (Canada).

    Cons

    A bit of the Canadian influence comes through. But that also means it can be tough to get things done. IT was especially inept.

    Pros

    Lots of interesting work.
    Opportunities to Learn the latest technologies in transaction processing.
    Excellent benefits and good pay.

    Cons

    Company culture changed from it's inception -- I felt there was a "customer-first" culture as the company was trying to grow its business, but later a "culture of blame" grew up so that more emphasis was laid on making sure Moneris was not blamed for a problem than on fixing the problem, an attitude that was really the opposite of good customer service.

    Advice to Management

    I worked in project co-ordination, better project planning (i.e. reinstate the use of MS Project) would make for better customer boarding and avoid bad first impression on the client's behalf.

    Pros

    Great work environment. Management is flexible and they are willing to work with you. You are able to work from home if need be. Everyone knows each other so it's like having a second family at work.

    Cons

    There isn't much room to truly move up. So if you get a position you are kind of stuck there for a very long time.

    Advice to Management

    Keep up the good work and continue to motivate your employees. Also try to utilize them based on their knowledge.

    Location, Interesting industry, Interesting people

    Cons

    Worst corporate culture ever!!! Extremely political.
    Poor leadership - no coaching or development
    No transparency
    No team building - everyone is out for themselves

    Advice to Management

    Take some leadership courses - learn how to coach and develop you people, instead of putting them down or punishing them for mistakes.

    People are nice. no one really pays attention to what you do

    Cons

    Hiring process takes forever, company only focuses on Canada, managers are terrible and incompetent, no sense of fairness among departments, fail to recognize talent

    RETHINK EVERYTHING!

    Pros

    Good Benefits, profit sharing and comfortable offices. Restrooms are clean. Opportunity to meet nice people from other companies on the elevator.

    Cons

    Toxic environment, poor interdepartmental communications and it is unfortunate because there are people that care but don't matter.

    Pros

    Appreicated the pro active approach when company downsized. Had a year's notice which helped make the transition a little easier.

    Cons

    After 23 years with company my payband was barely within medium range for my grade level.

    Pros

    Adequate solutions for the merchant processing market. Relaxed Management style throughout the organization and overall a low-stress place to work.

    Cons

    Moneris is slow to develop new technology for the market and relies very little technology to effectively run the organization.

    Advice to Management

    Hire or appoint a team to help increase communication throughout the organization and update technology internally/externally to effectively service the customer base.
