I should have known from the start...

Pros

Easy, straight forward job, work hours

Cons

Contract, lower level management, trainer, low pay From the beginning I should have known this would be a problem. The contact says if you dont complete 90 days, they will require "training" payback at $20/hr. If youre so concerned people are leaving within the first 90 days, your business model probably sucks. The training fell asleep multiple times in class, right in the middle of training. I watched lower level management crack the whip on employees and I hadnt been there a week. Why would you do that in front of a new hire?

Pros

Casual dress code, might be able to pick your own schedule.

Cons

Company does a poor job of bringing in new leads. Main source of leads is the phone book. Majority of people who call in are Senior Citizens who are on a fixed income and can't afford the service because it is over priced. Expected to make 100 outbound calls a day but chances of making sales on outbound calls are very slim. CEO of the company will check the sales board several times a day to see how many sales the department is at. Will say a smart remark if you are having a slow day. Small company with no room for growth. Will also be handling many customer service calls, transferring calls to different departments. Lots of overturn, four sales reps were fired and one quit during the time I was there.

Pros

Very little - no territories for sales reps may be one...

Cons

- Management has zero direction and has no idea what they are doing. - leadership on the commercial side has never worked anywhere else and has never been a leader so do not expect to get any sort of mentoring or leadership as they have no idea what they are doing. - CEO does not sell - typically the CEO at a start up is bringing in monster deals and helping with the growth - CEO does not do any of this and will admit that he knows very little about the business. - Metrics are totally pulled out of thin air and not based on industry or roles so you will have to adhere to metrics that do not make any sense and they do not help you attain your goal. - ZERO coaching and training - you will not be able to advance your career and you will learn nothing as they do not offer or care about giving you this. - They have been posting job reqs with the ability to move up and advance your career - this is blatantly false as there is no where to advance to! - The commercial team is ALL women and they really do not hire males to sell - be careful as the leadership teams does this on purpose and has the idea that they prefer females. - Benefits are terrible and expensive - Their business has been stagnant for years and growth is at a snails pace - Company is run very old school - nothing fun about it and the leadership wants it to be this way - they do not want to be like exciting new companies - they have no perks what so ever and there are almost no benefits to being an employee here as they do not care about the happiness of you.
