I have been working at Personal Group full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Uncapped commission, company car of your choice after hitting target for 12 months, list includes brand new Mercedes, BMW Audi's. All expenses paid holidays for top 10 people in the company (only 50 sales staff). The company is growing and since I've been here I've seen people progress into other parts of the business! One of the best companies I've worked for. The benefits are amazing, too many to list!

    Cons

Hard work, you work shifts and all over the UK but this is made clear in the interview and again in training.

    Advice to Management

The management have all done our job so there is very good support and training !

I worked at Personal Group full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

One on one Senior Management are fine I liked them, though when they allocated duties, there began the considerable drop in skill to handle and manage to a collaborative win, win especially for ground floor staff. If they can somehow bring back the feel of closeness that's been lost in the last 2 years, it would go back to being a great place to be.

    Cons

Sales people can struggle with difficult work that's been allocated. Very competitive, win at all costs attitude across some departments, sometimes those 'win at all costs and attitudes' means the staff turnover increases significantly as its currently doing.

    Advice to Management

It's very difficult to give advice to the management nowadays!

I worked at Personal Group full-time

    Pros

Great environment to work n, energetic & friendly. Management extremely approachable and trustworthy.

    Cons

progressions- not much room for progression as staff are long standing which is good but only movement to grow is if they leave.

    Advice to Management

Very supportive and have a huge amount of knowledge within the telecomms industry.

I have been working at Personal Group full-time

    Pros

QSM's are good that is it to be honest

    Cons

Car is on it's last legs, very low wage, you don't earn commission straight away like they tell you in interview. U make the business money without getting anything in return. Unrealistic targets, have to over achieve before you can get signed off commission which is fine however you still don't get paid anything from that month or previous months, then you have to do even more than that target to get a pathetic 75% of 5% commission. You work away from home all the time and they give you an allowance of £10-£15 per night however that is to pay for 3 meals a day in London... they put you in horrible hotels, you are expected to do night shifts i.e. 11pm-7am then back in for midday.. a lot of faveroutism, I have witnesses mis selling from "top execs" in my first week I worked over 60 hours and didn't get paid the commission. It's an exhausting job with very little down time as you only get Friday night and Saturday to yourself as they expect you to drive to work on a Sunday which you don't get paid extra for. Overall I'd say don't listen to what they say in an interview because unless you are willing to work stupid hours and arselick management you won't get your "free holidays" as they won't put you on the best locations.

    Advice to Management

Treat everyone as an equal and location management should give you more notice of where you are working.

I have been working at Personal Group full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Its a great place to work if you like a challenge and are willing to get involved. I've had the opportunity to get involved in projects from all over the business outside of my department by putting myself forward.

Some really good benefits (as you'd expect from an employee benefits company) and a really great bunch of people.

They've invested lots in the products and services recently so exciting times ahead for the business.

    Cons

Perks differ greatly between office based and field staff, but this is fair enough as we're doing a 9-5 while they are on the road doing all hours.

Holiday allowance isnt great until you've been here a few years.

    Advice to Management

Talk to staff more and share the successes and whats going on with the wider business

I have been working at Personal Group full-time

    Pros

Allowance every night for being away from home, car, mileage, ipad and phone

    Cons

Unreasonable expectations from management. Hours expected out of employees are unbelievable, locations are overworked and a lot of the time have had bad experiences with previous PG employees. The turnover of staff is by a mile the highest I have ever witnessed, and there is no work life balance at all here, as you are only told late in the week where you will be the following week (as late as friday) so you can never make plans. Management always have favourites and in my opinion, staff in the field are not on an equal peg at all. There is a quality score that measures how you work, and each week we are sent them, and a lot of the time the scores just don't add up at all. The bonuses, "free holidays" and other incentives they offer are so hard to achieve, yes there are a few people who do well...normally the same people always as they are given the best locations to work no matter what. Staff literally leave on a regular basis, you don't actually want to become friends in this company as normally they don't stay for long. Such a shame because they sell this job so well in the interview, but the reality of it is nothing like what's described.

    Advice to Management

Honesty is the best policy. Empathy and duty of care needs to be looked at a lot more

I worked at Personal Group full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

This is a company that is growing and it has one of the best incentive structures around. This includes the chance to win holiday's, upgrade your Car and attend many company events such as the Races and Wireless Festival. You get a Company Car, Ipad, IPhone all paid for. The training and support you receive to do the job is brilliant. The recruitment process is fairly straight forward provided you can pass an Iq test, know your history, can prove you are motivated and can complete a role play. They look for people to take control and show initiative. It seems to help if you are into competitive sports or have an interest in something that requires dedication. Remember this is a face to face Sales job that requires self motivation and for you to have a winning attitude.

    Cons

You can spend quite a bit of time working away from home which you get paid extra for. This is something that takes some getting used to and it might not suit everyone. Generally though this means you are willing to work more hours as the commission structure is so good. It can often take 12-18 months to establish yourself and learn your trade, especially if you are working bespoke accounts. If you are a fairly young female and work the Bus accounts you can really excel in a short space of time. Anyone else would really need to be working distribution fairly quickly to get into the top 10 out of 50 Execs which is where the huge money is. There is very little opportunity to progress into management or commercial at the moment as the company is so small therefore I would say PG isn't a career for most people but you can set yourself up and earn a lot of money in a fairly short space of time. The juice is worth the squeeze. I learned more here in 3 years than I did at Uni.

    Advice to Management

Create more opportunities to develop people. Increase the basic Salary. Improve the balance between working from home and working away.

I have been working at Personal Group full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

There are incredible pros to this job. I'd honestly recommend my job (field sales/ employee engagement etc) to anyone that is has drive to succeed. This job has changed my life in more ways then I could of ever imagined.

You get out what you put in.

Incredible incentives, money £££££, amazing management team, incredible support system, CAR, iphone, ipad. Conventions to New York, Vegas etc.

    Cons

You live out of a suitcase for the most past. But you get used to that, and I now prefer working away from home. So I guess that isn't a con anymore.

    Advice to Management

All of the management team have been in our position. They are experienced and know what it is like to be in our shoes. They are pretty much available at any time of the day, with either motivation, advice or just someone to speak to. I couldn't fault them. (Only when they go on holiday, because we miss them)

I have been working at Personal Group full-time

    Pros

Worked at PG for 5 years I have to say the best company I have worked for been on 2 conventions due to go on my 3rd also won the founders treat. previously worked for an energy company as an area manager and have to say PG genuinely care for their employees where as the latter you were just a number

    Cons

Relatively small company with not much room for advancement but the company is on the up and growing.
Working away has never been a problem for me as it helps you focus but you have to work long hours and put the shifts in if your willing to do that and have a winning attitude then this is for you

    Advice to Management
