I worked at PizzaExpress part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The manager is friendly and personable. The people who work there are genuine and nice. Everyone works hard and is committed to doing the best job they can.

    Cons

Owner sometimes unprofessional and doesn't treat employees fairly. The hourly pay is low compared to other companies. Manager and owner sometimes doesn't respect employee's hours. There are on-call shifts for driving which can be a nascence.

    Advice to Management

Pay the employees what they are worth instead of trying to lowball them. Respect employees personal boundaries. Don't skimp out on products such as trash bags. Respect other nearby stores and keep the dumpster clean.

I have been working at PizzaExpress full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Work your tail off and you'll get your shot !!!!!

    Cons

It doesn't make a sense at all to flex staff hours so much. It doesn't save the business, either than pennies I mean, and It doesn't help much the Business. It sounds more like something passed on for centuries ( of mistakes) rather than a real and effective business model.

    Advice to Management

In general I met a very good, sensible, attentive and competent RManagers, so I don't feel to advice anything else than "keep it up". However, I am of the opinion that the High Management may reconsider that maximizing the profit comes out of prioritize to the heart of the customers instead of the Board's pockets. Some of them knows that, others are floating among the clouds in a world of their own, keeping track of the same row of mistakes, tirelessly repeated.

    Pros

Flexible hours, staff food, tips, friendly and chilled environment.

    Cons

Labour saving, short of staff sometimes, some of the management. As huge chain restaurant they do not care about staff no bonuses.

I have been working at PizzaExpress full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    The money, comes from tips.
The shifts, you can work whenever is better for you.
Lots of branch to work at.
    You can meet nice people.

    Cons

Always pays minimum wage or living wage, won't get more than that.
Do your job, no others jobs, because once you do others jobs, you'll be asked to do it forever.
People get lazy in this place, managing team the most.
Giving vouchers like popcorn. Vouchers should be to bring people to your business when it's not a busy day, like Mondays, doesn't make any sense to have promotions over the weekend.
Cutting hours and making you work for two at the same price.
Giving food for free, because otherwise customer will complain, but on the other hand pushing everybody to increase the sales.
People ringing sick every week, and have to cover it.

    Advice to Management

They are not doing the things right, maybe they should ask themselves why people is leaving. They should try to push the people that is lazy and don't want to work, instead of the people that is always working, and trying to work like a team. Try to focus on make your team happy and you'll see how they increase the sales easily.
