I have been working at Precor full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Good products with a good, rich history of innovation. Smart, hard working, good people at the manager level.

    Cons

Shallow, egotistical leadership at the top as well as lack of respect for employees. Current leadership doesn't listen nor seem to care to REALLY listen to what people within the company might have to contribute. Culture is awful...but never used to be...was good before shift in leadership took place.

    Advice to Management

Get rid of the Precor Creed because you don't follow it. Is turning into a joke within the company.

I have been working at Precor full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Perks like a free gym room. Also, If career advancement is not your priority this is a good place to be in, with low pressure and not a lot to do on a daily basis, some days nothing.

    Cons

The products lag far behind competition. Very little is being done. They have been relying on the past reputation of the products which can only do so much.
If working on cutting edge technology is your thing, this is definitely not the place to be.
In addition to the mediocre work, the office environment is hostile in many ways. People are unwilling to train or share their knowledge. The team lacks collaboration and a sense of unity. There also are people throwing off hand racist comments around with the management ignoring them at best. There is a constant watch on employees to track entry/exit times, breaks and so on.
Stay away. It will do nothing to your morale or your career.

    Advice to Management

Hold leadership and office etiquette sessions for the team members and specially the higher ups.

    Advice to Management

Don't make changes too quickly without considering current team and long tenured employees.

Former Employee - Anonymous Employee in Woodinville, WA

    I worked at Precor full-time

    Pros

Benefits, Amer discount, many gyms, brand equity, cool robots, in Woodinville, fitness priority, summer hours

    Cons

Cavalier decision makers who spin everything to support silo intuition and myopic actions, particularly in product management, sales and marketing. Silly, old school mid-level leaders from the glory days whipping rowers in a grounded vessel.

    Advice to Management

Make creating demand and matching prospect demand a priority and drop the ego trip. You are not gods, now what? Don't kill Precor.

    Pros

    Work life balance is good.
    Benefits are resonable.
    People mostly friendly hard workers.

    Cons

Management makes wishful thinking goals. Workers pay for that when goals aren't met
    Three recent layoffs.
Which makes bottom line goal more difficult to get to cause fewer workers means less production. Which leads to poor morale. Which leads to good people leaving. Which lowers production.

    Advice to Management

Some management needs to be moved on, bring in fresh people with new ideas.
Stop making yearly profit goals you can't reach. Tie profit sharing to net profit, not wishes.
    The company culture is dying.
Remember the Creed. I believe in the importance of doing things right versus first.
I am the heart and soul of Precor.

I have been working at Precor full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Not terrible benefits as far as medical and dental. Still not up to par with other companies its size. Also there are some very nice people and a couple of amall workout facilities on site

    Cons

Depressing work space, along with archaic processes, weak management/leadership, and a major drop in sales recently have really put a damper on everything. People are getting laid off left and right and all the good people seem to be either leaving, looking to leave, or have left.

    Advice to Management

Sell to another company or shut down.

We can't keep up with the big competitors in the industry with this type of leadership and performance. All that is happening now is people are losing jobs and getting bummed out.

I have been working at Precor full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great Health Care Coverage. Dental could be better.

    Cons

Company continues to miss sales targets by multi-millions of dollars. Departments are being starved of money so lots of tasks are falling though the cracks as fewer people do more work. Little to no training in available for staff on products or systems.
Yet outside sales gets to spend money like it is going out of style, with expensive hotels, food, travel, parties with unlimited alcohol and more. This after sales targets were missed all year.
Products have been rushed out so there are quality issues due to lack of testing. Employees are turning on each other. Harassment is everywhere and HR is not taking it seriously.

    Advice to Management

Treat everyone as equal. Have team building activities for all staff members. Really evaluate where you are short staffed and provide the funding do the job correctly.

Star performers and others leaving the company
Outdated, embarrassing work areas/facilities and technology
    Worst IT department ever?
    Culture needs a makeover
Can't recruit top talent to Woodinville (poor compensation)
    Extremely low morale among employees
    Huge lack of diversity
Too many people who just don't care
All of that is just the start of it...
