    "Autonomy, Fast-Paced, People-Centric"

I have been working at Propeller full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Propeller offers a ton of autonomy, while still offering a wealth of resources and tools to collaborate, thought-partner, and learn. Even though we are spread across 4 geos and many clients, there are ample opportunities to connect with colleagues. If you are someone who likes autonomy, loves to learn new things, and enjoys solving problems of all shapes and sizes, then Propeller may be just the right place for you!

    Cons

Coming from larger companies, I was used to more health insurance options. That being said, what is offered is fair.

I have been working at Propeller full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Speaking to my personal experience with Propeller: Leadership communication and transparency Expect and deliver high quality client engagements - some individual and some team-based, with leadership or peer support available and encouraged to work through challenges Very strong values and culture - everyone fits in, everyone can have a say if they want to contribute Proving why reputation is great during these uncertain times - proactive and thoughtful decisions made quickly to ensure employee and clients both are put in the best position possible. This has resulted in maintaining headcount and even adding headcount at clients where I've seen other firms cut out completely. Leadership balances the both the human and business sides of work life and seem to care about employees' growth.

    Cons

Not always great diversity of client projects - most are interesting and challenging in their own way, but not all will feel sexy (which is true of most day to day work anyway). The company is working to diversify types of client engagements, but this will likely be an uphill battle until the economy recovers further.

I have been working at Propeller full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

The people here really drive the culture. The leadership team is intentionally transparent, promotes thinking like an owner, and encourages curiosity and personal / professional development.

    Cons

Lile any firm with a growth mindset, processes and formality continue to mature. Change is constant and internal change is no different. As we continue to prepare and scale for the future, we iterate to pressure test our structure and capabilities.

I have been working at Propeller full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Working for Propeller can be extremely rewarding, in that: a) the firm maintains a diverse portfolio of clients across industries with challenging business needs, and b) you get to work with whip-smart, interesting (and different!) people, and build your network through fun and engaging work - which can be either client-facing or internal. There can't be many better places to get exposed to new industries, new methodologies, and develop your skill set.

    Cons

Work at Propeller grants consultants a high degree of autonomy, and at times you can feel like you're on an island tackling a complex problem. Also, this hasn't been my experience, but I've talked with colleagues who have found themselves in a "dull" engagement where consultant-level expertise may not have been needed. But this seems to be the exception, not the norm.

I have been working at Propeller full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    - working with interesting people from a variety of career backgrounds - opportunity to build relationships with your co-workers - ability to shape your time and impact outside of client work

    Cons

    - drinking and socializing is the most straightforward way to get promoted - lack of work/life balance: work weeks are expected to be 43 hours on average. not counting additional internal work you are doing - and everyone does some internal work. - lack of objective promotion criteria. we all think we are judged on the same competency matrix but not all performance managers adhere to that structure or make it explicit outside of annual review time. - the pay is terrible when you compare it to our competitors. you can work harder for more bonus $$ but your salary will barely increase annually. - clients not diverse enough, feels like we are just staff augmentation for a few big clients - no HR department or escalation for internal issues or questions - LT not professional - talking about other consultants publicly

    Pros

    * The other consultants we work with * Flexible working * Training and a constant drive to improve skills * Pay and bonuses are ok

    Cons

    * Always expected to do more for the company * Management is inconsistent * Promotions of people who aren't liked or respected * Being treated like staff aug rather than getting us into projects that will actually help our careers * They don't care about people

I have been working at Propeller full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Put simply, Propeller is an amazing place to work. The people are consistently awesome and raise the bar for all of us. Leadership is authentic and transparent. Growth has been steep and has resulted in more interesting and exciting work. Local model means consultants don't have to travel leaving more time for other non-work pursuits. Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) is an amazing benefit that allows everyone to have an ownership stake in the firm's future.

    Cons

None! Anything here would truly be nit-picking.
