I have been working at Rapiscan Systems full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

None, other than a few good people that actually care.

    Cons

Not enough room to list. Morale is horrible. Personnel are overworked and underpaid. Constant layoffs create monster workloads for others. You don't have to do your job to survive. You just have to be kissing up to the right people. Five Presidents in 7 years speaks volumes and the customer base sees the chaos in performance. Horrible place to work.

    Advice to Management

Deep dive your contracts. Spend time inquiring of performance in all area instead of sell, sell, sell products. Pay attention to your people for a change and get rid of ones not performing on critical mission areas, instead of coddling them.

I have been working at Rapiscan Systems full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Very smart and intelligent people work for Rapiscan. Current security-tech industry has no end in today's society so great job growth and stability

    Cons

Management still operates with a small business mentality and undermines everyone working for them. Turning simple tasks into difficult operations. Also there is no regard to foresight when it comes to potential problems even when employees and customers bring it to management's attention. Management would rather spend $$$ to save $ or wait until a potential problem becomes an actual problem and then scramble to fix it.

    Pros

People are in general very friendly during daily interaction, polite (you can call it very professional). But that is it.

    Cons

Too many inconsistent orders from different management teams, extremely low efficiency. Have never seen anything done right the first two rounds.

    Advice to Management

Trust and empower employees, otherwise, no matter how hard you try, you won't be able to improve your profit margin with so much wasted effort.

    Pros

Great Coworkers that are great and hard working. Many want to give their best but are met with lack of support from leadership, barriers and deception.

    Cons

Toxic Environment from the top down. Worst example of leadership possible.

    Advice to Management

Management must learn how to strategize, plan, execute, communicate instead of pushing deception and lies. Respect the employees that actually do the work. Pak Chin is president not Ajay M.

    Pros

Solid market presence: one of the great things about this company is that its products are in real and serious use.

    Cons

Short term focus: unfortunately the company is focused on its quarterly financial results and some of its best managers and technical people need a longer time horizon to be able to produce great products. Consequently the company spends a lot of its resources trying to put out fires.

    Pros

Feels like a small company, in that everyone you need to get in contact with is eager to help.

    Cons

Poor benefits - Also it seems that a lot of the business process is done on a whim without a lot of long term thought.

    Advice to Management

    Get the company under control.
