I have been working at Right Management full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Freedom to design and deliver leadership development solutions that delight our clients and provide meaningful work for myself and colleagues. Work from home, except when on client assignments. Feel valued and respected.

    Cons

The consultant utilization requirement is too high considering the amount of administrative responsibilities also required.

    Advice to Management

Change the company description text on Glass Door. Right Management is so much more than an outplacement company! Invest in marketing, advocating and expanding your talent management practice. Hire a number of junior consultants to work with senior consultants on certain projects. This could allow more competitive pricing and ensure a constantly developing bench.

I have been working at Right Management full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Colleagues enjoy helping people and seeing results. As a result you work with very nice and professional staff members who are interested in others.

    Cons

Home based leadership is not only lacking in depth and integrity, they maintain a fear-based work environment. Management either lacks courage, is ineffective, even a couple are outright bullies.

    Advice to Management

Make your managers rise to the level that creates an environment of trust and appreciation. Don't harbor managers who do well despite their own bad behavior.

I worked at Right Management (More than 3 years)

    Pros

When I joined the firm it was an incredible place to work. There was a sense of purpose and a mission t help organizations with their talent management needs.

    Cons

About three years after Manpowergroup acquired Right you could tell that the cultured changed. Being that I worked at both places the obvious was happening:
-Instead of developing their people managers were starting to "manage-up"
-There is no support in the field for collaboration in sales and delivery
-Commission structure is now a joke, at least 50% lower than their competition (this
strategy was to reduce "cost of sale"....kinda like tripping over dollars to pick up
         pennies.

    Advice to Management

There is no advice that management would ever listen to.
Take a look at your top sales performers, they have almost all left within the last two years...I was the first to abandon ship:-). What you have now is a group of people who handle legacy accounts and have taken over what was left behind by those of use who left the organization. Hard to believe that you let your best consulting minds leave and you have fallen so far behind LHH that you are no longer on their radar. Funny how you could drop the ball so quickly and not understand how it happened.

If you want to change what is happening bring in leadership that understands talent management and is not also involved with Manpowergroup.
Mara Swan should not be the executive sponsor of Right.

Then again, what do I know. I was just their top producer in TM for three years.
