I have been working at SSM Health full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Our mission, our presence....at SSM Health, we are called to service. Our vocation allows us to meet that calling. For Mid-Missouri, there is NO PLACE like it!

    Cons

We are a large organization - it can take a bit to understand the structure and how processes are carried out.

    Advice to Management

Be present, be listening, be willing to work the front line with any team!

    Pros

"Turn no one away" and they mean it. I like the facilities and the people.

    Cons

There are cons everywhere you work. The cons are less in my opinion, at SSM.

I have been working at SSM Health full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

I work in home health so I'm not on a floor all day. I enjoy meeting new people and teaching them about their health, seeing wounds heal, and encouraging their lifestyle changes. Being outside when the weather is nice is a bonus. The pay is decent. The benefits are ok.

    Cons

Archaic software, poor scheduling, persistent negativity from management. It's an unwelcoming environment to newcomers and there is a high turn-over rate.

    Advice to Management

Invest in more current, user friendly software. Support the nurses who are driving around all day and stop beating them down. Do a work flow study to see how nurses are being burdened with unnecessary tasks.

I have been working at SSM Health full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great co workers, love my patients. Facility I work in is beautiful. Good amount of vacation time and paid holidays.

    Cons

Pay is incredibly low in comparison to other health care organizations, benefits are outrageously expensive considering we work for them. They charge a fee to have your spouse.

    Pros

    People work with are great

    Cons

Pay is not high enough for certain fields

    Advice to Management

Stop keeping people in positions they are not qualified for. Kissing up is not a qualification and should be hiring people that get the job done without being a bully.
