SSM Health pays techs with 2 and 4 year degrees the same, as they do the same work most of the time.

I have been working at SSM Health full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

The culture is sincere and I’ve never known a company to care so much for their all of their customers, ie patients, vendors, employees and each other. I always feel welcome and respected.

    Cons

Salary may be a little lower than other hospital networks but the pros outweigh this by a landslide! Also once an employee leaves SSM, even for FT school, it seems difficult to get back in the door. Could work on improving this.

    Advice to Management

Follow up and good communication is key! Love
that you recognize promoting your top performers! Keep up the great job!

    Great director.

    Cons

    Values are not practiced.
    Horrible nurses.
    Violent.
    Horrible manager.

    Advice to Management

The director of this department is amazing, but the issue falls on the manager underneath him. This department has an extraordinary turnover rate, isn't respected by any staff, diseased with corruption and political minefields, and is an overall dangerous work environment where management will never have your back and place you in constant danger with no regards to your well being. This department needs to change or be replaced.
