I have been working at SSM Health full-time for more than 2 years

    Pros

    Management, colleagues, pay, facility maintenance.

    Cons

Typical challenges of a clinical setting.

    Advice to Management

Keep it up, maybe focus on hiring more techs for the ICU.

I have been working at SSM Health full-time for more than 20 years

    Pros

Company supports career and personal growth by offering tuition reimbursement. They also have several cohorts for both BSN and Master level programs. These programs are offered at significantly lower prices.

    Cons

Because SSM is a fairly large system it takes a long time for changes to be made. We struggle to compete with competitors for qualified staff.

    Advice to Management

Listen to those that are closest to the work. When the company struggles financially make cuts from those not directly providing care.

I have been working at SSM Health full-time for more than 2 years

        Pros

flexible working hours, benefits are great, work life balance is encouraged, tuition reimbursement and also tuition discounts for certain universities, employee referral bonus, Casual dress - casual environment. always striving to improve processes and create more efficient ways to complete daily tasks, open door policy with management, active in community mission work and issues

        Cons

Chances for advancement or movement within departments is hard to achieve and takes time. Management is a little passive with the enforcement of policies throughout all departments. Slow to terminate employees that do not complete their task and meet productivity.

        Advice to Management

More one on one meetings between employees and either the team lead or supervisor. Would be great for the management team to ask what your career goals are and help you work towards achieving them. Maintain policies and procedures throughout ALL departments and ALL employees. Show appreciation for your top performers. Encourage more team building experiences to help employee morale. Don't run the business with a numbers...

I worked at SSM Health full-time for more than 2 years

        Pros

        Great pay and great benefits

        Cons

Favouritism, women tearing other women down every chance they get, nonexistent diversity/inclusivity, difficult to advance

        Advice to Management

When hiring a practice manager, provide all the tools they will need to succeed. If you want quality people leading teams in your offices, then take the time to train them not only on their daily tasks, but also with your mission and what should be a positive culture. Why not invest your time in them? What do you have to lose?

I worked at SSM Health full-time for more than a year

        Pros

Great co-workers. Bonus and double bonus for certain shifts. Weekend differentials. Good healthcare benefits.

        Cons

High volume. Low system organization. Under staffing problems make for long and hard work days. Inadequate salary compensation for responsibility of job. Very high turn over for technicians.

        Advice to Management

Fight for increasing wages for techs, therefore securing less turnover. Shift responsibility of linen to housekeeping. Enhance communication line (via hospitality rep?) with patients to increase patient satisfaction.
