Not sure when this person worked for Shing but it's been a while since our Tier 2s made less than 50K. Our Client Services Manager closely monitors workloads and makes sure that our techs don't get overworked. Our policy is that techs should maintain a 60/40 split on billable/non-billable time (training, etc.). The model works well for us and our techs are generally happy with the work/life balance.
Shing has been a great company to work for. Management communicates well with employees, and has a real focus on career development rather than just what can we do for them. Work/life balance is a major theme of any discussions with management with regular team building events. This has been one of best companies I've worked with, with a friendly staff, who are always ready to help out when you need it.
Cons
Although they are making efforts to improve, sometimes communication between departments isn't as smooth as it could be.
