    I have been working at Simply Self Storage full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    -Loads of free time
    -Normally unsupervised
    -Work at your own pace for most of the month
    -Sometimes you can go days without a customer
    -Benefits are actually really good (medical, 401k)

    Cons

    -You're alone in an office 95% of the time
    -You're responsible for the rentals and move-outs, even if the entire market is slow
    -Difficult to balance life and work. (Sunday is a 4 hour day, so to get 40 hours, you work another 4 hour day for a total of 6 days a week or more if there aren't any assistant managers)
    -Almost no holidays off

    Advice to Management

    Revise store hours to allow more than one day off a week. Maybe even have two people minimum per office so that if one person calls out sick, one person isn't running two stores all day. Employees will work if they don't feel like they're being abused and forcing employees to work 14 days in a row kills motivation.

    Great work hours, independent workload with freedom to set your schedule in large part, multiple option benefit package, community engagement in your day to day business.

    Cons

    Not really cons but more required knowledge: May require travel in county wide region, Indoor/Outdoor job all seasons, Physical labor is required, Customer service skills are required. Solo work is normal.

    Great working enviroment, great team members, great satisfaction in job performed, wouldn't want to work anywhere else been with company 12 years and highly recommend!!!!

    Pros

    I have been with Simply Self Storage for nearly 11 years. In that time, I have seen the company grow and shape itself into the top storage company in the industry! The workplace environment is challenging & rewarding at every level. Simply has been integral in my continued learning and development at my position, and has always valued my opinion. There's no place that I'd rather work!

    Usually work alone; I get to determine my work pace throughout the day; feels like running my own small business

    Hard to predict busy times; better for someone that wants a steady, nice pace but not interested in moving up

    Pros

    I worked as an APM before becoming a Store Manager. I love this job the challenges you face are easily overcome. You work independently. The hours are great 40 hrs a week. I am lucky to have a boss that cares about his employees and a corporate staff that works hard to maintain good standards and a safe place to work. This job has helped me with personal accomplishments. I am thankful to have a job I wake up and enjoy doing.

    Depends on location and the tenants that come with it.
