I have been working at Strategy& full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Intellectually stimulating, smart colleagues, strong compensation

    Cons

Engagement lengths are stretching providing less variety

    Advice to Management

Rotate people out of engagements more regularly, stop holding Jr. resources accountable for utilization. Stretch time to help counsel-outs leave to better options.

    I worked at Strategy& full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    - Challenging engagements that give you diverse experience and make you attractive to future employers
    - Intelligent people (most of the time...)
    - Travel / expense perks (for those who like to travel)

    Cons

    - Shift to a culture of "work is life", long hours working with people who do nothing other than work and believe that is the way life should be
    - Work for works sake, working excessive hours doing unnecessary iterations or rework due to culture mentioned in the previous bullet
    - Lack of acknowledgement of the above bullets by leadership, even when situations are extreme and apparent (people developing health conditions due to long hours, etc.)
    - Negative / shady politics that impact your career opportunities based on upper management that you may have worked with

    Advice to Management

    - Get back to a culture of "work hard, play hard", roll your sleeves up and dig in on WHO is driving negative change and determine HOW to fix it
    - Conduct more thorough and compassionate exit interviews to understand why employees are leaving in droves

    I worked at Strategy& full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

People are smart and there is good client visibility on some projects

    Cons

The leadership at this firm is so greedy and insensitive that they will make you work till you get physically sick.

These are not normal consulting hours.. something is truly wrong with what this firm has become and need some strict top down discipline on what is acceptable.

Please don't join unless you have no other choice

    Pros

Great place to learn through access to intellectual capital. Exposure to wide variety of projects and courses. Optionality to bounce around between different functional areas.

    Cons

Terrible culture. Management is not invested in professional development. Very very cut throat, long hours, minimal collaborative culture.

    Advice to Management

    Invest in your people!

I have been working at Strategy& full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great people, especially if you start with a class of people right out of your degree.

    Cons

Training was essentially irrelevant to actual job opportunities, creating a bigger gap between those had been summer interns vs. not. Depending on your team, the partners border on verbally abusive. The acquisition by PwC has ruined a lot of perk that made up for the bad work/life balance (which is a sham, don't let them fool you during interviews).

    Advice to Management

Practice what you preach and empower your employees to do the same. Don't talk the talk about valuing employees and our contributions, only to treat us like cr*p if we get sick and need more humane hours than the 75+ hours/week we normally work until we feel better.

    I worked at Strategy& full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Smart people from ex Booz

    Cons

If you are not a white or Indian male you have no chance. Recruiting too many people, majority non US. Partners don't care. They over recruit pretending like it's still a similar to MBB firm, but it's not. Then there is not enough project for all and PwC does cost reduction lay offs. There is no counseling out process - PwC just kicks you out with a two weeks notice whenever they feel like, regardless of your performance. So many high performers got laid off just because of low utilization and not because of how good they are. Stay away.

    Advice to Management

    Reinvent Booz culture

    Pros

Remaining ex Booz group of people

    Cons

Tend to hire a lot of international people promising a visa sponsorship, and not enough US.
