Pros

Modern office environment, frequent team events, and a good office atmosphere.

Cons

Structural Imbalance: The Riga office functions primarily as an outsourcing hub for the Swiss headquarters. This creates a disconnect where local management has limited power to advocate for employees compared to the Swiss teams. Probationary Risk: There is a noticeable lack of job security during the probation period. It is not uncommon to see sudden terminations without prior performance warnings or constructive feedback loops. Management Gaps: Leadership quality varies significantly. In my experience, technical proficiency in management was lacking, leading to friction when contributing high-level work. HR Alignment: HR tends to prioritize maintaining relationships with management over employee advocacy, providing little protection in the event of a dispute.

Pros

The Rotterdam SDC branch is diverse and open minded. People have the most diverse background and I never had any bad or toxic interaction whatsoever within the SDC part of the company, The community management is very active and welcoming.

Cons

The real decision-making stays in CH. You can grow following learning paths, but it's hard to get to more managerial roles. Compared to Switzerland, the SDC is a sort of a decoupled "bubble" from a managerial perspective, but also from the product perspective, since none of their products is popular or actively used in NL. Depending on how you get allocated, you can get into teams that are split betwee NL and CH. In that case, it may happen that you are the only one, or one of the few, that are from NL, in which case you could feel alienated going to the office without colleagues with wich you don't do "actual work", regardless of how great the community management is.
