I worked at The Hanover Insurance Group full-time

    Pros

Flexible approach recognizing today's work life balance. Great talented people that truly want to be there. Strong relationships with distributors. New strategy focused on taking the company to the next level.

    Cons

Some organizational changes taking place and company is coming to grips with some expense challenges. That's not a bad thing but may have some impact on operations as things evolve.

    Advice to Management

Continue to be focused on what has made the company successful to date and driven strong relationships with distributors. Tough time in the market to take any step back.

I have been working at The Hanover Insurance Group full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Teams are collaborative, not competitive. Everyone I've met is eager to help and works hard. Flexible schedules, work-from-home time, and good time-off benefits make work/life easier than most places.

    Cons

Compensation packages haven't lived up to expectations (bonuses, salary increases, etc.). Company is supposedly expanding rapidly, and is clearly in the early stages of change.

    Advice to Management

Keep the culture as collaborative and flexibleDon't use changes as an excuse to short employees on money or benefits. Staff will notice, and good employees will leave.

I have been working at The Hanover Insurance Group full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The comany has great benefits, the position pays fairly well for the job, and the team feel like a large family, the company is fantastic if you can get a position that is not in one of the call centers.

    Cons

The call center environment is stressful, the expectations for the position can be reached but it is almost imposible to exceed the expectation, and management tends to focus on performance more than going above and beyond for the customer. They do care about the customer experience, but not to the point that it is more important then your call statistics.

    Advice to Management

If the company wants to move twards the next step they need to focus more on exceptional service than handle times and other call center metrics.
