I worked at Validus Re for less than a year

      Pros

Note: I worked for Validus Research, which is a part of Validus Re. You can tell they are committed to taking care of their employees. There are free snacks and drinks, there were multiple team meals, and there was one fun activity day where people from Bermuda came and we all played football etc. (with free drinks!). Additionally, as I was ending my term they started renovating the office to give everyone adjustable...

      Cons

I had a bit too much free time, such that it got to the point where I felt the time I was spending on side projects to occupy my time exceeded the value they brought to the company (though I this was mostly because there was another student in this position, and I think my term was the last term they did that). There was also a sense that some of my work as a technical writer was not valuable, since it was common knowledge...

I worked at Validus Re for more than a year

      Pros

Great company to work, mostly worked from home! Amazing people!

      Cons

Not so organized, they don’t have PMs and BAs that are good and they can drag you down, although this began to change little by little while I was still there. So I guess they must have good PMs and BAs now.

      Advice to Management

Keep making money:) but no advice

        Advice to Management

Structured onboarding ie orientation period for first weeks of employment for entry level positions, binder of induction materials/resources etc. to provide Do not pair entry level staff with junior first time managers supposed to be teaching them Must intervene and have meeting to reposition training and identify goals/improvements needed before dismissing without just cause - probationary clause or not it’s the...
