Pros

Co workers are really cool people and food carts sometimes come for lunch.

Cons

Too many to list. Training was a joke. They will not provide you with the correct leads, appointments, or states, but you will be held accountable to your sales to calls ratio and they will blame you for all of it, even though they never provided you with the right tools to sell. There's no such thing as a true broker here, they will force you to sell their own products and if you don't you will be paid less. Good luck with that. Underground politics run this place, and if anyone wants to argue this statement I will gladly share my first hand experiences to back this up.

Pros

they are really good liars

Cons

This is a HORRIBLE company, they completely scam agents out of commissions and lie to get agents to work for them for open enrollment telling you that you'll make thousands of dollars when really they pay pennies for commission. Even though I was one of the top performers during open enrollment during 2015, my commission check was $1200. Before joining Velapoint I was shown commission examples that made me believe I would make around $50,000 during open enrollment. This company is a complete SCAM and the management will lie right to your face. If you ask them about the reviews on glassdoor.com they will say that some agents just couldn't sell...TOTAL LIE. I sold almost 700 policies during open enrollment and they DID NOT PAY COMMISSION AT ALL!!! They purposely have a complex pay plan so they can cheat agents out of commissions. I was forced to find a job that would pay better because Velapoint literally pays pennies for policies that you sell. What Jessie Hillman is doing to agents is illegal and she should be brought to justice. You will work your butt off during open enrollment thinking you will be paid fairly for your work and THEY KEEP THE MONEY AND POLICIES ON THEIR BOOKS AND PAY AGENTS NOTHING!! They completely lie to you about how much money you will make...I had two paychecks that were less than $500 and I was selling A LOT of policies. I have even reported Velapoint to the Insurance Commissioner so they are aware of what they are doing. DO NOT WORK FOR THESE SCAMMERS!

Pros

Paid for licenses and appointments.

Cons

Hired as a temp when thought I was being hired permanently. Kept on edge of seat through entire open enrollment (Oct - Feb) period to perform, perform, perform. Promises of making $7k per month by management - never saw any of that kind of money. Worked overtime, but encouraged not to claim the overtime due to commission, but never saw the commission. 60 people hired at the same time, barley 10 are left. Worked 60 - 70 hours per week, let go right after open enrollment was over. Untested, Untried, Unprofessional.... If they try to respond to this review, it is pure damage control.
