Pros

There are some nice, hard working, genuine people here that care about their work, customers, and the product they produce.

Cons

Toxic culture. CEO talks about everyone including those he keeps close to him. Everyone knows this goes on and it spreads like wildfire. The company has a product issue but he wont admit it because he was the one running Product before becoming the CEO. Any issue with the product is one he created. Instead of fixing the problem he would rather call everyone stupid and lazy. Look at his executive team. NOBODY lasts! At what point does the board recognize the common denominator.

Pros

There are currently no pros which outweigh the cons…

Cons

The company has deteriorated rapidly since April 2024 when leadership changed. Employees are not allowed to raise their concerns as the new leader can’t handle the truth and will have you fired once you go against him.

Pros

The people were by far, the best thing about Veracode. I was very lucky to have met some incredible people in the team and people I consider friends not just colleagues. That’s it that’s the only pro for working at Veracode

Cons

So many….. To start with the executive team have no idea what they are doing, the company vision changes from one thing to another with no strategy on how to execute, then when the “plan” fails they just blame it on sales. According to the executive team Veracode must have hired the worst sales team globally (very unlikely). The CEO micromanages every aspect of the business and does so poorly, he has instilled a culture of toxicity and blame. He has driven the product and the company into the ground and the board seem to drink up any story he spins them. Everyone is scared to say anything as he threatens to fire people if they do, a truly awful CEO. He is the main reason I’m no longer at Veracode, I have no faith in him, his team or any of his “plans” to make Veracode succeed. The product leave as lot to be desired- which makes sense as the now CEO was the CPO a few years back- customers complain and nothing happens, the innovation path is very slow, lots of promised fixes/enhancements with no delivery and the roadmaps are very weak. Customers are promised new functionality time and time again with no actual delivery. I’m surprised any customers stay with the constant broken promises. The platform is seen as legacy by the customers and Veracode seem happy with this as they do nothing to modernise and make user friendly. They will probably reply to this saying they now have a CPO but my feeling is that the CEO will micromanage him also and he will eventually leave. The vision for the future is just the old vision but rebranded- nothing new at all just Risk Manager with a new name There are many more issues from top to bottom in summary, it’s toxic, the executive team are toxic, the product is not where it needs to be and the CEO is the worst CEO I have ever encountered. The whole ethos of Veracode is to make you feel like you are constantly failing so they can squeeze more out of you, again no surprises given who is running the company.
