    I worked at Veracode full-time

    Pros

Flexible with remote work Talented mid level employees Flexible PTO

    Cons

-Veracode has been on a downward trend for about a year now -Talented employees are leaving at a rapid pace -New executives have changed everything about the company just for the sake of change and will say one thing to your face and do the opposite behind your back -Long time employees are not valued and are expendable. Veracode used to be an amazing company with the strongest culture I've been a part of. None of that is applicable anymore and I don't see that changing anytime soon. The morale is the lowest I had seen; even after multiple acquisitions people were more positive than they are now. If you are looking to join this company, I would think twice.

I have been working at Veracode full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Culture, while nothing like it used to be, it is still decent People that really care about the mission Fairly flexible with time off Hackathons

    Cons

Middle management. Horrible. Almost all need to go through some level of training. To be fair, it's not all their fault, upper management isn't exactly great either. It's not like they are oblivious, they care, it's that they just aren't good at 'reaching' employees. Hemorrhaging 'A' players monthly for over a year, steadily. Extreme technical debt which because nobody ever has time to deal with it, can leave employees feeling overwhelmed.

    Pros

Really great management/leadership staff, Company is very transparent on where we are headed and the goals we are trying to achieve. I would say the biggest thing that I have felt with my time here is you are not a number and you are as important as anyone else in the company.

    Cons

    I didn't find Veracode sooner!

    Pros

Progressive, family-friendly, community-involved. Hackathons. Music group. Lunch and learns, ...

    Cons

Getting too bureaucratic. Recent push seems to have hired more managers than engineers.

Thanks for your perspective on what seems like more Mgr hires than than Engineers. We can assure you that is not the case, but if we have a number of back to back Leadership hires, it can certainly seem like that at times. We are committed to keeping our leadership team to a size that will adequately be able to manage and support our terrific engineers.

I worked at Veracode full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Great coworkers - but they are all leaving Great location Flexible onsite schedule (But get ready to work many hours remote) 10-12 hour work days expected) Uses Trending technology

    Cons

Management is heading towards wrong direction. They use the latest buzzwords to discuss technical changes without knowing what implementation really means. We are led by people that have not earned their positions through merit, it is all politics. Raises were terrible last year. They eliminated bonuses for Sr. Staff Members on the technical side. Zero Room for growth, all leadership positions are filled with external candidates above a certain level. Engineers promoted to management positions receive little to no pay increase while taking on more hours and more responsibility. While we still have great and talented people left, the first wave of them left due to management not listening to facts and reason.
