I worked at WayForward Technologies full-time

    Pros

you'll get a lot of great opportunities to work on all kinds of different brands and types of games.

    Cons

Sometimes the products aren't all that exciting and there's definitely A Teams, B Teams, and C Teams...

I worked at WayForward Technologies full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Strong artistic direction and vision for their games.

    Super laid back atmosphere.

At the time I worked on one of their A tier teams. The project waa very fun and fulfilling to work on. The art team had the best artists in the studio at the time.

    Cons

Random studio location with not a lot around.

    Not much company culture.

A,B, and C tier teams. It can suck if you're on one of the crappy projects.

Company relies on bids for 3rd party games. Makes hard to be a consistent full timer for the company.

Pay is low for the industry.

    Advice to Management

The company manages to get strong artists but it's hard to keep them when the pay is not competitive. Invest more in your enployees.

I worked at WayForward Technologies full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Really good working environment! Easy going people! Pretty good work/life balance. Somewhat relaxed working hours

    Cons

lets be honest... Management could use an overhaul. Way forward feels like it's run by a bunch of old college friends then people with a strong business sense. This isn't bad per say, but when it causes content layoffs the content turn over means many times each game is produced as if it was the company's first game. It's really a fun place to work if your just getting into the industry and you just need some credits under your belt but ONLY STAY FOR A YEAR OR TWO if you can! Past that you'll just burn out. (also, after 2 years your probably good enough to get into more major companies.) Many have gone on to Blizzard, Riot, Insomniac, Re spawn, etc. Way forward is just Game Development Bootc amp, get in, work your butt off, leave for something better. It's a stepping stone for 20 somethings, pure and simple

    Advice to Management

You could be great but after 20+ years some days I'm just surprised your still around. Honestly, it is impressive but it's also kinda sad. Its wonderful that so many people leave you to go on to do great things but sad that they couldn't do those things for you.

I worked at WayForward Technologies full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great place to grow, especially entry-level, with promotions and more. Great employees and inclusive management. The projects you do work on are enjoyable and give an overall great experience. You'll truly feel a part of the team and inclusive in the game development, no matter the position. If you hit any personal issues that start hindering work, they can be not very helpful or understanding.

    Cons

Pay rates are minimal per profession in the industry. Massive lay-offs after or nearing project's end, with 1-4 months of no call backs for new projects. Lay-offs can be abrupt, even same day at times. Business commute can be lengthy and hard, recommended to move closer. A lot of crunch-times with overtime hours, even weekends.

    Advice to Management

Have a minimum lay-off range, close the gap between low pay rates and industry standard, and thank you for making it worth while to work here, even with its cons.

    Pros

Wayforward have great environment and people, it was my pleasure to work here. Great place to build a foundation and beyond.

    Cons

Projects would often go toward the wrong direction near the end of the project timeline, would be nice to find ways to fix that. It could get rid of a lot of chaos near the end of project life cycle.

    Advice to Management

While I really enjoyed my time working here, please take some time to re-evaluate the project scope, and execution (if you guys haven't done so already). It could save a lot of ahead ache and chaos. Otherwise, keep it up.

    Pros

Very nice people to work with in the QA area. Current Technologies.

    Cons

No room for advancement. Once you're in a position you're there and if you try to move up or look for something new to do, people tend to frown on that
