Our commitment to building connections and promoting a vibrant company culture continued to flourish in 2023. Between our nine business resource networks, we held hundreds of events throughout the year to educate, advocate, and celebrate various cultures, heritages, and causes. We turned Employee Appreciation Day into a weeklong extravaganza that shined a light on our dedicated workforce and provided space for gratitude, camaraderie, and yes, even meditating with sheep. We celebrated fun days like Valentine’s Day, National Pet Day, and Tell a Joke Day, which further connected employees and provided many laugh-out-loud moments throughout the company. We held companywide wellness challenges that underscored our dedication to employee well-being, including both mental and physical health. Our annual Halloween celebration, 2U Boo, brought employees across the company together through frighteningly festive costume, makeup, and carving contests that gave us all a thrill. Our virtual No Back Row Awards ceremony honored outstanding achievements and showcased how our deserving winners embody of our nine guiding principles. That's all on top of the countless team gatherings, educational summits, and forums that regularly connected 2U employees throughout the year. It was a year where shared successes, meaningful connections, and a fun workplace culture were celebrated. The people at 2U are truly incredible and we can't wait to see all the things we achieve together in 2024. 🌍✨
October was a busy month for #Lifeat2U, where we prioritized well-being, celebrated culture, and had fun along the way. We wrapped up Hispanic Heritage Month with a hybrid dance party with members of TuGente, 2U's business resource network (BRN) for the Latinx community. TuGente focused on community advocacy, representation, opportunity, and perseverance this month, while acknowledging the obstacles their community faces and issues impacting their community. We also celebrated Mental Health Awareness Month in South Africa throughout October, along with World Mental Health Day on October 10. Our Cape Town benefits team provided employees several opportunities to participate in programming discussing mental health, included a global event which focused on the importance of self-care. Many 2U employees participated in Innovation Week that brought people together from across 2U to explore new ideas, build prototypes, promote new approaches, or experiment with innovative paths. The focus on this three-day event was to suggest projects that can put us on the path toward digital equity. Finally, 2U loves the spooky season & celebrated with our annual 2U Boo event 👻. Throughout the week leading up to Halloween and on the day itself, we hosted makeup, costume, and pumpkin carving contests, virtual scavenger hunts, a Halloween-themed candy bracket challenge, and much more! Employees won special prizes & came together virtually and in-person to have a frighteningly festive time.
For the past few months, 2U welcomed 25 interns (which we call 2terns) as a part of our internship program. Our 2terns contributed to a variety of projects across different departments throughout the organization that had a positive impact on what we do at 2U. We cannot believe how quickly our time with them flew by but we are excited to see what their next adventures hold and know they will do considerable things in their future careers. We'd also like to recognize the incredible team who worked behind the scenes to ensure our HQ 2tern program was a success! From recruiting and onboarding to mentoring and event planning, our mighty project team worked tirelessly to ensure our 2terns were able to gain important experience in their fields of interest, learn new and valuable professional skills, and create lasting connections during their time at 2U. #LifeAt2U #Internship #Interns #SummerInternship2023
