Chances are, you’ve probably heard about #mindfulness and how effective it is as a stress management tool. But what exactly is it and how can you take advantage of the amazing benefits for yourself? AbleTo Behavioral Coach Jeffrey B. returns this week to share a few tips on how to incorporate mindfulness into your daily life. Check out Jeff’s advice in this week’s post.
Between work, family, and current events, it seems like most things in life are a source of stress. But how do we recognize how stress is affecting us? And how can we manage it so that it doesn’t? “Nothing in my life was necessarily going wrong but my body was acting as if it was,” says Jeff B., a Behavioral Coach at AbleTo. Check out Jeff’s blog as he shares his journey from unknowingly living with chronic stress to embracing mindfulness.
At AbleTo, we live and breathe our core values, both at work and in our communities. Our value of #MakeADifference states "Turn your passion into purpose." And that’s just what Claire Kuhn, AbleTo Marketing Research Manager, did when she co-founded Turn Down For What NYC, a non-profit providing social and recreational experiences for adults with Down syndrome. Through her volunteer work, Claire naturally developed friendships with adults who have Down syndrome and started including them in her own social activities like brunch or nights out. “I quickly realized that these types of social interactions are the exception, not the rule, for folks with Down syndrome and I really wanted to change that.” You can follow and support TDFW NYC on LinkedIn and Instagram (@turndownforwhatnyc) for the latest on their upcoming events and call for volunteers. “The more folks are exposed to the fact that individuals with Down syndrome are just like them, the easier it becomes for people with Ds to feel accepted in their communities.” #employeespotlight #TeamAbleTo
