Last weekend, we were thrilled to host a group of young women from the Ron Burton Training Village for a visit to our Framingham campus. Participants had an opportunity to meet with Bose employees and executives, learn about music, technology and careers in engineering, and they also had a chance to design and build their own musical instruments. Thanks to WBZ | CBS Boston for joining us at the event and for sharing the story:
At the beginning of the month, we raised the Progress Pride flag at Bose facilities around the world to celebrate LBGTQIA+ #PrideMonth2023 and reaffirm our commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging across our global community of employees and staff. Shown here are flag displays at our Corporate Headquarters in Massachusetts and with staff from our Tijuana, Mexico location.
This May during Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month, the newly established Employee Resource Group API@Bose celebrated Asian and Pacific Islander heritage with the Bose community. The group hosted a panel of API leaders at Bose, including moderator Raza Haider (SVP & Chief Product Officer), Hiroshi Miyazaki (Global Customer Director, Automotive), Jeanie Cherng (Director, Research), and Anwar Siddiqui (VP, Global Software Delivery), to discuss their own journeys as members of the API community. Through this panel, company-wide newsletters and posts, and community-building socials featuring catering from local API-owned businesses, API@Bose sparked dialogue about the impact of identity and community on our work lives, the experiences of being 'seen' as members of the API diaspora, and the multiform stories from the API community that are carried through food, music, and film.
In recognition of Asian American & Pacific Islander Heritage Month, Bose hosted an inspirational panel discussion today. We discussed the predisposition to 'fitting in', showing up as your authentic self, and inclusive leadership. The leadership panel included Jeanie Cherng, Hiroshi Miyazaki, Anwar Siddiqui, and was moderated by Raza Haider. And a special thank you to Jocelyn Zhu for an outstanding job organizing and hosting this important discussion.
During the month of April, our Planeteers Employee Resource Group invited the entire Bose community to celebrate Earth Month. Throughout the month, the group shared informative newsletters and hosted activities around the globe that focused on climate change and environmental sustainability. At our Massachusetts Corporate offices, the Planeteers held an Earth Month Celebration including local earth-friendly vendors, vegetarian snacks, live music, and sustainably minded giveaways. An in-person book talk event was held with Personal Development and Career Coach, Lori Sullivan. She shared tips from her book “One Shade Greener at Home” which serves as a roadmap for a greener lifestyle.
Bose CEO Lila Snyder recently spent time with Cheddar News for a Walk & Talk conversation about our vision for what’s ahead, our customers’ love of music and great sound, and our “Turn the Dial” initiative aimed at closing the gender gap in music production.
