Crowley and SEACOR Holdings Inc. through subsidiary Seabulk today announced they agreed to form a new joint venture with common goals of innovation and value: combining the companies’ energy and chemical transportation fleets, delivering efficiency and reliability for customers. The new company will leverage and scale both leading entities’ unique operational and safety-focused capabilities. The new company will serve the U.S. domestic market for operating vessels and related services in petroleum and chemical trades as well as related third-party ship management services.

Along with our partners at Stena Bulk our government solutions team recently conducted a reflagging ceremony of the Stena Imperative. This vessel joins two others in a fleet of Crowley-managed tankers selected by the U.S. Maritime Administration (MARAD) to serve in its Tanker Security Program. The program ensures a commercial fleet can readily transport liquid fuel supplies in times of need for the U.S. Department of Defense.
