During BlackHistoryMonth, Rise, the EmblemHealth Black Employee Resource Group (ERG), has taken the opportunity to focus on Black-owned businesses that support the well-being of the Black community. Among the organizations highlighted in the daily bulletins are Black Men Heal, a nonprofit that provides free mental health treatment to men of color, and Sereen Hair, a foundation that supports cancer patients by providing cost-free medical wigs and other resources to those in treatment. The Rise ERG is committed to engaging Black employees and meeting the care needs of the Black communities we serve. This Black History Month initiative serves as an engaging example of one of the group’s imperatives - to develop and strengthen relationships within our company, and with organizations in our communities. The project’s editor and curator, Clinical Director Stacy Scott-Wilds, commented on the importance of ERGs, and Rise in particular. “The Rise group has had such a positive impact on my day-to-day.
