Certified Nurses Day is celebrated nationally on March 19 to honor nurses who achieve certification in their specialty. At MultiCare, we recognize the extra efforts our nurses take to achieve certification. Meet Certified Nurse Andrea Syverson, BSN, CCRN, a third-generation nurse who achieved board certification in critical care just last month. Andrea has been a nurse for 27 years – spending the last 12 at MultiCare Valley Hospital. “My plans for becoming a nurse began when I was six years old. I dressed up as a nurse for Halloween and declared my plans to my parents for my future! My mom and grandma were both nurses, so you could say it was in the genes.”
Yesterday, MultiCare administered its 100,000th COVID-19 vaccine dose. While there is plenty of work left to be done in the fight against COVID-19, we celebrate this milestone – and our staff and volunteers who made it possible. We remain committed to providing this important vaccine for our patients and communities as quickly and safely as possible.
