We awarded our second Patterson Diversity, Equality & Inclusion Scholarship designed to assist BIPOC students pursuing undergraduate education in dental or veterinary fields. One of this year’s recipients, Pricilla Albarran, is studying to be a veterinary technician at Metropolitan Community College – Maple Woods in Kansas City, Missouri. After graduating, she plans to work as a veterinary technician and hopes to eventually become an animal behavior specialist in the future. Albarran said the scholarship will enable her to fully focus on her studies and not be stressed about working 40 hours a week and going to school full-time. “I can have time to study and my grades will definitely improve. I will put this scholarship to good use and will be forever grateful.” #WeArePatterson

And, thanks to the #PattersonFoundation and their Dollars for Doers initiative, they were able to donate more than $5,000 to support our employee's favorite nonprofit organizations. #WeArePatterson

San Diego General Manager Chad Lunaas enlisted in the United State Marine Corps after graduating from high school. He became one of the first groups to deploy to Afghanistan after the September 11th attacks. “Being a Marine is who I am to the core. It taught me values such as honor, courage, commitment and how to live those out,” explains Chad. “It gave me a common purpose with my fellow Marines, and it showed me just how big the world is. These experiences didn’t stop after I was out of the Marines in 2004, they are ingrained in how I show up to my personal and professional life.”
This group of eight co-workers at the Dinuba fulfillment center have been working together at Patterson for a long time. 27 years, to be precise. From celebrating birthdays, to helping each other when in need; this passionate group has been exemplary of our values for nearly three decades. #WeArePatterson
