Teamwork and fun are important aspects of life at PlanSource. Last week, 50 employees in Ada, Michigan participated in a team building event where they switched places at their table to complete each other’s painting. This is fun because everyone has the opportunity to touch each other’s paintings and everyone does their best to make it perfect. It's a great way to demonstrate that even though each person has their own individual role, it takes everyone doing their part to make things complete to make their team successful. Great team effort by all!
At PlanSource, our employees are our greatest asset. Today, a special Town Hall was hosted by our Employee Engagement Committee for employees to hear about ideas, initiatives and efforts - that were enacted by employees, for all employees, and supported by the leadership – that help build a strong and motivated workforce that is willing to expend extra effort, drive business goals and deliver a higher level of customer (and therefore organization) success.
We opened our offices all week for employees and their families as they recovered from the aftermath of Hurricane Irma. With schools being closed one more day in the Orlando area, we continued to provide hot meals and entertainment to kids. We hope everyone is getting their power back on and getting back to normalcy.
With schools in the Orlando area closed and several of our employees still being without power, we continue to keep our doors open to employees and their family members. Hot breakfasts and lunches as well as kids entertainment continued throughout the day for employees and their families. Taking care of our employees is taking care of our business.
Since Hurricane Irma hit Orlando, we have kept our downtown Orlando office open for convenience purposes. A large number of employees did not have power in their homes and some had a little damage, too. Employees and their families were welcomed into the office to be more comfortable, get some hot food, take benefit of air conditioning and running water, charge their devices, and have kids be entertained. We hope everyone else is also staying safe and recovering from the effects of the hurricane. These are important times to take care of each other.
We did it again! PlanSource has been selected by the Orlando Sentinel as a Top 100 Company for the fifth consecutive year. The award identifies, recognizes and honors the best places of employment in Orlando, benefiting the city’s economy, its work force and businesses. What makes this award significant is that it is based on a survey sent to our Orlando office employees by the Best Companies Group which measured employee experience at PlanSource. We hope this makes each member of the PlanSource family very proud and reaffirms that we all work for a very special company. Here is the press release: http://glassdoor.com/slink.htm?key=vQ0i8.
Today, all our offices celebrated National Waffle Day! Did you know on this day in 1869, Cornelius Swarthout of Troy, New York received the 1st U.S. patent for “a device to bake waffles” which we know today as the waffle iron? If you haven’t enjoyed national waffle day yet – there is still time!
Back to school is such a fun and exciting part of childhood that we felt the need to help out as well. Our Orlando Office donated backpacks and supplies to the Children’s Home Society of Central Florida which will be given to children in-need throughout the area. Just another great way we love to give back!
Last month, our Ada office had a company picnic. Everyone enjoyed hot dogs, chips, sweets and employees brought some of their homemade healthy treats to share with everyone. There were friendly games of ladder ball, baggo, and one secret plate winner!
On Friday, we celebrated National Dance Day in both our Orlando and Salt Lake City offices. The Salt Lake City office enjoyed belly dancing and the Orlando office had a great time line dancing!
