Maureen was drawn into cardiovascular sonography after her father passed away suddenly. She decided she wanted to "lead a life that had a sense of fulfillment and a sense of purpose." After choosing her passion, the next step was to find the right place to pursue it. As a Los Angeles, California native, Maureen was looking for a change of pace. She interviewed at several places and ultimately chose Providence St. Joseph Hospital Eureka, where she felt an immediate connection that continued to deepen when she started the job.
