Today is International Women’s Day, and this year’s theme is “Embrace Equity”—something we all can do in our interactions with our colleagues, teams and communities. To Michelle B., embracing equity means to be bold, be vocal, and be confident. Michelle boldly advocates for others and is vocal about setting others up for success, both as a member of our Spectrum Women Business Resource Group and a mentor for Spectrum Scholars, which provides scholarship and mentorship opportunities to under-represented college students. Multiple members of Spectrum Women also celebrated International Women’s Day by donning purple and reflecting on the theme of “Embracing Equity.” We encourage you to take a selfie of yourself “embracing equity” and share it in the comments below. #InternationalWomensDay #EmbraceEquity #SpectrumWomen

One of the ways we support our communities is through the Spectrum Community Investment Loan Fund, which generates economic growth and creates jobs in underserved communities. The Loan Fund accomplishes this by making investments in community development financial institutions (CDFIs) that then provide affordable loans and resources to small business owners. Forty percent of the loans we’ve financed have been to Black-owned businesses, and nearly 4,000 jobs are estimated to have been created or retained through loans made possible by the Loan Fund. Hear directly from Marc H. Morial, President & CEO of the National Urban League (NUL), the nation's largest historic civil rights and urban advocacy organization. The Loan Fund provides support to The Urban Empowerment Fund (UEF), a subsidiary of the National Urban League that makes direct loans to black and other minority-owned businesses. #BlackHistoryMonth #WeAreSpectrum

Do you follow cybersecurity best practices? 🔒 For Safer Internet Day, three of Spectrum's experts shared their top cybersecurity tips: 1. Lock your computer when left unattended 2. Secure your home network by changing the default administrator password to a strong password, and only allow people who you trust to join your network 3. Use two factor authentication (2FA) when possible 4. Keep your systems and software updated 5. Utilize a VPN client when out in public (i.e. airports, hotels, public Wi-Fi, etc.) 6. Don't click on links you receive through email or your mobile phone, especially if the source is unknown 7.
