Happy Mexican Independence Day! This day celebrates the anniversary of Miguel Hidalgo's El Grito de la Independencia, a speech that motivated the people of Mexico to fight for independence from Spain. Hidalgo was a priest that helped lead an army against the Spanish soldiers in the beginning of the war. Mexico won independence in 1821.
