The Yext Empower Employee Resource Group took part in the annual American Cancer Society Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk in NYC. 👟 Since 1993, this campaign has brought together communities, companies, and individuals from all backgrounds across the nation. 30 years later, it has turned into the nation's largest and most impactful breast cancer movement. Yexters were able to take part in this event, uniting around a common goal of supporting the American Cancer Society and their drive to end breast cancer.
October is National Work and Family Month! Since 2003, this month has recognized the need for healthier and more flexible work environments and was created to remind employers of the importance of sponsoring work-life effectiveness initiatives. Gardening in October? We think yes! 🍃 = 🍂 The Yext Sustainability ERG had the opportunity to plant various types of flower bulbs last Friday in the Lower East Side of New York City to commemorate the lives of the COVID-19 victims in the community. Yexters were able to learn more about the efforts of The Lower East Side Ecology Center from leaders there while interacting with members of the neighborhood. The ERG was thankful to partner with the LES Ecology Center for a third time as they look forward to future initiatives in the coming months and inspiring others to live sustainably within local communities.

It's Climate Week in NYC 🌎 Our friends from Common Ground Compost came to visit our NYC HQ to educate Yexters on how to compost and recycle around the office! Did you know? 🟢 Landfills are the third largest source of human-related methane emissions in the U.S., and composting removes the waste that causes these emissions. 🟢 Separating organic waste from inorganic waste prevents diesel emissions from transporting heavy food waste to faraway landfills. 🟢 The organic waste in the compost is a beneficial soil amendment with rich nutrients. 🟢 Using compost from food waste means less synthetic fertilizers need to be used, which contribute very little to the ecosystem.
