The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Stifel Financial in Nov 2007
Interview
The people were very cordial and accomodating. it was a typical middle market investment banking interview; a mix of cultural fit questions with investment banking technical questions and firm specific questions. Was able to interview with very senior people and who were firm yet fair. The technical questions were related to the three main accounting statements and accretive/dilutive mergers and acquistions. I went to lunch with two associates that were good people.
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Stifel Financial (Denver, CO)
Interview
The interview questions were just situational and relational questions. Zero technical skills tested. I met the team via zoom and then in person. First you interview with the head MD and then you meet the rest of the team. Whether you are hired is really based on your first interview with the head MD.

Question 1
They asked me about work I was proud of in my last role and what my strengths and weaknesses were.
Technicals were pretty easy. Maybe 5 or 6 questions. They were pretty smooth, but I screwed up on one or two that I know which was embarrassing and I think that hurt me. I know my stuff but I had a late interview after a long day of work. Not an excuse, but didnt help me.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Stifel Financial in Sep 2021
Interview
I have directly contacted the directors of the department. Overall the process was structured. But the quality of the interviews was average and the questions were not really smart. I got the impression that the culture of the company wasn't very strong. Wouldn't recommend it.
