How do employees feel about sign on bonuses at AT&T?

Pros
On top of the decent pay they also give a 2500 dollar sign on bonus and are very likely to give a return offer if you do decently and attempt your work with good effort.
Cons
They also have an Intern Innovation Challenge that can be a little distracting from your actual project work. It’s nice to have for people who are assigned to projects where they aren’t assigned much work though.

Pros
You work solo Insurance Discounts(cell discount is easy to beat by other companies with no discount) "Union"
Cons
*New hires are now rushed through training and are left unprepaired for the actual work in the field. When you getvto the field your manager will hate you because you are hurting their numbers and with ride you until you quit* Every position you're working towards is being removed and their work is being placed on you. You're given less time, with higher expectations. Your raises are eaten up by the rising cost of the insurance. No cost of living adjustments. Bonuses requirements have gotten so high no one even check to see it they got it anymore. You have no idea if you get off at 2pm or 11pm and there is no way to predict when you'll be off. This leaves you not planning anything with family and friends. You will work three out four weekends a month. If you have kids, this means you'll miss 75% of what they do. This is the reality of this job. I'm not even trying ro make it sound bad. These are just the facts. I've been here 8 years and everyone I know with 6 months + is trying to leave. Remember, there is a real reason they have that sign on bonus and it's because that's the only thing that will keep you here.
Advice to Management
Make everyone in the CORE contract. This has become a dead end job due to the career ladder being cut down.

Pros
The pay isn't bad $19 an hour, work from home.
Cons
They use intimidation tactics so that you don't miss work, ie you cannot take off any time within 6 months of employment or it will count against your attendance. Systems go down frequently and you will get blamed from management if you do not prove you were trying to get back to work. This has been the most anxiety ridden job I've had because they put so much pressure on you. There are 10 people left out of 40 from my training class. That speaks volumes. AND there was a sign on bonus.
Advice to Management
Treat your employees like you genuinely care for them and aren't out to get them: we are all on the same team. Provide reasonable time off for people, it's not realistic to not take a single day off in 6 months. Take constructive feedback and improve instead of becoming defensive.

All of your accumulated attendance points will most likely be from taking off on weekends. Calls back to back, technical support get all the calls from other departments, and other issue and have to fix there mess.
