      Pros

      Not many at this time.

      Cons

Sad to see a company what the company has turned into. Having worked here for many years it's impossible to think that this is a great company to work for. It used to be. Reviews and rankings they continue to get from other best company magazines must be paid for because it's far off from what I've heard from employees. Hiring process & promotion opportunities are terrible & often are just given to those who hiring manager is friends with. Looking into careers somewhere else.

      Pros

Great people and good work life balance and benefits overall

      Cons

Low pay compared to competitors and will have you working two jobs with no possibility of title change or base pay increase, zero room for growth. Current environment is far too competitive to move up at the company. It is harder to get a job internally than to find a new job externally. WAY too many hoops to jump through with the current internal interview process. They encourage you to move around but make it nearly impossible to grow upwards. The application and interview process for internal candidates is absurd. There needs to be a possibility of a promotion for each role to reward hard work. Losing amazing talent left and right because of this issue.

      Pros

      brand looks good on resume

      Cons

My experience at American Express raised several serious concerns about leadership, culture, and decision-making. One of the biggest red flags was hiring without clarity. Teams often did not seem aligned on what role they were hiring for, what success looked like, or who actually fit the position. This led to confusion, shifting expectations, and unnecessary pressure on new hires. Leadership accountability was another major issue. When things went wrong, leaders rarely owned their decisions. Instead, blame was frequently pushed down to junior employees, even when the root cause was unclear requirements, poor planning, or constant last-minute changes from the top. There is also a lack of transparency and honesty. Important information is often withheld or changed without clear communication, which creates a culture where people feel set up to fail rather than supported to succeed. Advancement and job security did not appear to be driven purely by performance or quality of work. Connections and internal politics seemed to matter more than actual delivery, which was demoralizing for those who genuinely tried to do the right thing. Overall, while the company promotes strong values externally, my day-to-day experience did not reflect them. There were numerous red flags throughout my time

      Pros

Good pay, great flexibility in your schedule, great PTO/sick pay.

      Cons

The leads you're provided are terrible and you're not allowed to self prospect. They're VERY quick to terminate people who aren't making goal and just hire new ones by the truck load, just to fire them too. It makes the day to day very stressful watching people come and go knowing you're next if you stumble.
