How is the office food at Deloitte?

      Deloitte reviews

      Truly a crapshoot

      Senior consultant
      Current employee
      Rosslyn, VA
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business Outlook

      Pros

-Possiblity to work on interesting projects and pivot to projects that spark your interest -Tons of great training opportunities (Deloitte University) -Great perks (nice office, free snacks, lunches/dinners comp, etc...)

      Cons

-Might not be able to navigate to a project you want to be on -Coming from industry, it is concerning how little knowledge the deloitte employees have. This often leads to project mismanagement, so make sure to CYA so you have a paper trail to prove Managers and Senior Managers are the ones to blame for mismanagement. -You will work more hours than you bill -Do not expect to get any useful industry experience; you will just get really good at powerpoint -Coaches and resource managers are useless compared to other big 4; it's up to you to find projects to staff yourself on -People will use your resume on proposals to win work, but they plan NOT to staff you. Or worse, you communicate that you don't have bandwidth, they win the work, and then staff you even though you communicated that you do not have the bandwidth. -Compensation is so-so depending on industry (Unless you get to PPMD level)

      Audit associate

      Business Outlook

      Pros

      - good exposure to different company fields - better understanding on how MNCs or Investment companies work - good coffee/ snacks and pantry that us full timers don't get to utilise

      Cons

      - long hours - peak burnouts - managers can be condescending

Big name but perks and opportunities aren't what they used to be

      Associate
      Former employee
      Singapore
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business Outlook

      Pros

Brand name is big so it will look good on your resume

      Cons

Benefits are... lacking. Leave was cut from “unlimited” to just 15 days a year which feels like a big step back. Bonus payout is strange... the financial year ends in June, but if ur not client-facing, you don’t get ur bonus until end September. Client-facing folks get monthly payouts instead of one annual bonus but only if they hit some really tough KPIs. KPIs in general are super high for client-facing roles, so the pressure is real. Perks have disappeared too. We used to have free snacks, breakfast, and drinks in the pantry, now it’s just vending machines. Zero flexibility now. No WFH at all and everyone’s expected to be in the office 5 days a week. If ur thinking about promotions, those are harder to get since the business isn’t doing great. Moving to another office overseas? Pretty much impossible these days...

      Pros

      Free lunches sometimes were nice.

      Cons

Was asked to do things I wasn't comfortable with and then management ignored this. Was asked if I needed to really take 2 days of bereavement off when a close family member died. On a Halloween dress up day was asked why I dressed as a gay pirate (which wasn't the costume).

      Cons

Not enough manpower, shortage of staffs. Job allocation is not reasonable, management failed to do proper resource management. Forced back to office when there is not sufficient of seating place.
