What is working from home like at Fanatics?

      Fanatics reviews

      Great place to work

      Social media specialist
      Former employee
      Jacksonville, FL
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business Outlook

      Pros

Great pay, work from home opportunities, great management

      Cons

Mandatory overtime (but this could be a positive to some people)

Do not be tempted to join Fanatics Betting and Gaming

      Software engineer
      Current employee
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business Outlook

      Pros

Good pay, benefits and the ability to work from home (for who is interested)

      Cons

Extremely political company, full of favoritisms and dishonesty, with most employees being afraid to speak the truth or contradict their managers. I've rarely seen such disconnect between Product and Engineering, with so many self-contradicting messages between what is being preached and what is actually done. There's a crude lack of empathy for employees at any level, with the top leaders pretending that the company is better than other monsters in the tech industry, but you rarely see mass layoffs anywhere else from one day to another (and folks learning about it while being on vacation). While some of the ex-FAANG engineers are top notch, they are completely incompatible with leaders from the gambling industry, that have unrealistic expectations on project timelines, deliverables and their quality. To summarize, unless you want to live in a continuous lie where Yes Men are awarded and failures are re-packaged sold as wins, stay away from the Betting and Gaming division.

      Pros

Discretionary Time Off, work from home days

      Cons

Lack of diversity, favoritism, racism, and no ability to grow within company

      Toxic

      Business Outlook

      Pros

when i joined two years ago, the work seemed interesting and i was given flexibility in terms of working hours and wfh option. Wednesday lunches were a novelty. Coming to the present scene, work got repetitive and uninspiring. Undue pressure to come to office 3 days a week despite attending late work calls is incomprehensible. all the flexibility has been taken away and work environment is getting increasingly toxic.

      Cons

Expectation to attend late calls and show up to office 3 days a week is something most employees are struggling with. No cafeteria, need to go to another building to find something to eat. Inability of higher management to understand employees issues and harping unnecessarily on the need to come to office.

      Pros

      Good Pay, Bad Management

Senior customer service representative (csr iii)
      Former employee
      Jersey City, NJ
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business Outlook

      Pros

Good Pay Flexibility to work from home during bad weather conditions

      Cons

Micro management High work loads No room for error Forces you to have no empathy for customers

      3

      Low Pay - Class System

      Retail service associate
      Current employee
      Tampa, FL
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business Outlook

      Pros

Good people on teams. Work from home 2 days a week. No weekend demands.

      Cons

Definitely obvious layers. Not all departments treated equally. Hard to move up from lower level positions. Company tends to hire externally and definitely prefers employees 20 - 30 years old.

      3

Promises a lot, delivers anything but

      Anonymous employee
      Former employee
      Manchester, England
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business Outlook

      Pros

      • Hybrid / Work from home • Office has a good location • Good staff discount • Excellent implementation of diversity & inclusion • Excellent implementation of culture & values. Fanatics actually are great for helping to push better understanding of different cultures across the organisation

      Cons

      • Really, really hard to form good working relationships if you’re not in the right clique. • Awful pay - doesn’t reflect the market average. Awful bonus structure too. The bonus isn’t actually worth receiving once you’ve paid tax on it. • Really poor employee morale - overall mood tends to be quite low. Most people you speak to tend to be massively overworked and relatively unhappy on a day to day basis. • Weird progression ladder - again, if you’re in the right clique, you’ll progress rapidly. If you’re not in the right clique, unfortunately you can give your all to the company and essentially be laughed out of the room when you express promotion consideration.

Good teammates, but poor management and inconsistent policies

      Data engineer
      Current employee
      Hyderābād
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business Outlook

      Pros

Good teammates, collaborative environment Decent projects with an updated tech stack Opportunities to learn new things Some flexibility in day-to-day work

      Cons

HR and management often come across as inconsistent and unprofessional Policies (WFH, DTO, etc.) keep changing based on management’s convenience “Unlimited DTO” is misleading — U.S. employees use it freely, but India employees are discouraged or restricted, leading to exploitation DTO ends up being less than industry average, with no compensation for unused days Constant cost-cutting across the board IPO discussions have been ongoing for years without clarity or transparency
