      Toxic culture impose wrongful PIP

      Senior manager

      CEO approval
      Business Outlook

      Pros

Was good company before the wrongful imposition of the PIP

      Cons

After the company implemented the policy of minimum billable utilization, the company culture became toxic. Everyone began fiercely guarding their billable territory, and the consulting team was reluctant to support sales efforts. This created a vicious cycle where cooperation dwindled. Apart from a few larger government accounts (we're aware of how government projects sometimes misuse taxpayer funds, as seen with the ArriveCan app), there weren't many successful or sustainable projects. As a result, sales dropped in Q1 2004. company started impose wrongful PIP to kickout employees without severance pay

      Pros

the people are good - and the work can be gratifying

      Cons

Layoffs are sudden, without notice, and with small severance packages, and poorly trained managers don't help cushion the blow.

Lack of Transparency in Employee Management

      Pros

*Opportunity to work on cutting-edge technologies. *Collaborative teams and supportive colleagues. *Flexible work environment in terms of location and timings.

      Cons

*Lack of clear communication regarding performance issues or expectations. *Sudden termination without prior notice or a chance to address concerns, which reflects poorly on employee management. *Limited support from HR when seeking clarification or resolution.

Out of touch Management Structure only allows innovation via Acquisitions

      Senior solutions architect

      Business Outlook

      Pros

The people you meet and work with depending on the team can really make it worthwhile. If you do get laid off the normal severance package at least shows a hint of respect.

      Cons

With AI nothing is safe. IBM can't innovate from within, it has to structure acquisitions to maintain relevancy. It is a normal corporate job that speaks of loyalty and comaradery, but of course they offer none. You could be gone in a moments notice and they keep silent and pretend nothing happens as your team members dissappear. If you are younger and cheaper (Especially overseas out of US) then you have probably a much more secure chance of lasting longer than most.

      Pros

Great coworkers once you get to know them

      Cons

Constant layoffs and if the idea of a product doesn't sell, there goes your job. Recently terminated partnerships with solid products and burned bridges.

      Pros

You have the chance to work completely from your home. Amazing variety of courses that you can do for free.

      Cons

I entered as a student, and at first the on-boarding was quite complicated, the girl did not know how to explain my role within the company. As students, you have to learn courses during the first months and if you excel in any technology they ask you to enter as a fixed-term contract. When I joined the company as an IBMer I found out on the last day that I had managed to join and they kept me waiting 1 week for my contract. I was on a fixed term contract in an administrative role for the whole year, I never had fedbacks on my performance, I never knew who my direct boss was and I never had anyone doing any kind of coaching, I mention this because, within the same company, they boast about having mentoring, coaching and help to grow within the company, but I never had anyone accompanying me. I did do a lot of things on my own initiative, courses, listened to podcasts and joined groups on different cutting-edge topics, but they don't recognize this either. The bosses treat you badly and make you work late, thank God it wasn't my case, but they do let people go to give you more work. When I was off-boarded, I only found out through an email that I was no longer with the company, I had no meetings, nor the reason for my dismissal, since I had no feedbacks, I never had any complaints either. It is a terrible place to work, although they pay well, I would not recommend it at all.
