      Pros

Superb working environment (physically) Multiple days of vacation Not much pressure on revenue

      Cons

Not much prospect for promotion or pay raise due to salary band Central - Regional hierarchy Cultist and self-masturbating atmosphere

      Pros

Certain teams are WFH, campus has awesome benefits especially if you play Riot Games, team has been flexible with working hours.

      Cons

When you work at Riot and play Riot Games, it's hard to separate your personal and work lives. Post-lay offs our work load has increased without any increase in pay or benefits.

      Pros

As an artist, the potential for personal growth is enormous. I learned so much while I was there. They really encourage community and openness. The team is a collaborative force of nature, and everyone brings their best to the table. The projects are always fun and exciting to work on, and the whole team works hard to make the best result possible for the players. A lot of love goes into the process and it shows. Riot has a lot of amenities, and hosts tons of events for its employees to boost morale and bring everyone together in really delightful ways!

      Cons

It can be very demanding at times. As a live service game company, there's a never-ending push to make content, and make it better and more efficient than the last time. However, the hardest part is living in Los Angeles, which might not sound bad, but between the traffic and high cost of living, it creates a very stressful environment to keep up. There's also a bit of a class divide type situation, where some employees earn high enough salaries to make up for the high cost of living, while others barely manage to get by. As a corporation, Riot has a history of those issues falling on deaf ears, making it even more stressful.

      Golden Handcuffs: Comfortable Stagnation

      Business Outlook

      Pros

      - Exceptional benefits package and compensation - Comfortable work environment with great amenities (kitchen, food, snacks) - Talented colleagues and interesting projects - Generous vacation policy - Truly one of the most comfortable workplaces I've experienced

      Cons

      - The comfort becomes a trap that gradually drains your ambition and energy - Despite working on interesting projects, professional growth feels stagnant - Excessive corporate bureaucracy that slows down meaningful progress - Surprisingly competitive atmosphere with limited genuine connections - Office environment can be extremely noisy and distracting (open floor plan makes concentration difficult) - Disconnect between performance and advancement opportunities - Inconsistent recognition - received praise for being a top performer but no corresponding promotions or raises General advice: Negotiate for hybrid work from the beginning - the office environment can be extremely challenging for focused work. Come for the benefits and salary, but manage your expectations regarding career advancement. If you're highly ambitious and motivated by growth, be prepared for potential frustration with the pace of advancement. This is a place where you can be extremely comfortable but may find yourself years later wondering where your career momentum went. Many employees stay for 7-10 years, which speaks to the comfort level, but raises questions about professional development. The company offers security and stability but may slowly dim your professional spark if you're not careful. Rating: 3/5 - Great for comfort-seekers, challenging for ambitious professionals

      Pros

-Really great ICs and fun projects -Decent amount of ownership on small scales

      Cons

-Fired me due to an unfounded rumor on social media, no relation to work relations or output. Company rather bury everything; gossip, nepotism, and making friends are the only thing the company values from their employees -Very little ability to move upwards or start to own larger scale features -Very low pay compared to other game companies, especially traditional tech

      Pros

Look, if you are reading reviews about working at Riot Games, there are probably other companies you could work for instead. I'm not saying everyone here is passionate about gaming or Esports or Riot's IP, but most people are. It feels overall inclusive, the pay is fair, there are politics but no more than you'd expect for a company of this size. If you can get a job in your field and you like Riot, go for it.

      Cons

Their promotion and raise structure is very demoralising. You only get promoted if a role for that level opens up in your team, so "just doing your job well" doesn't get you neither a promotion nor a raise. If you work in EMEA, there's also the typical "global vs regional" tension, where HQ will take decisions that affect everyone without it feeling like they sufficiently look feedback.
